go to state development i suppose and see what areas it can be put in... maybe there's a regulation about motor sports and how far they have to be from civilisation or something (i don't know but i imagine u wouldn't have a drag racing strip up Queen Street - well legally *giggle*.) then u'd have to have to get insurance/public liability things like that... most of all u need to get land that isn't 100,000's of bucks worth that's even 1 hour from the city! i've been lookin and there isn't it's impossible almost.

I live in brissy and it's fuc*ed, I knew that as soon as I moved here...I dont have a bike at the moment, i'm tryin to save for a ute...yeh as that sheila said there is a few places out at IPY, There one near redbank I think, but other than that this place is fuc*ed, unless ya wanna ring up harry up at the sunshine coast and ask him if ya can bust some big gaps at his joint, but I dont think he would be to keen on it...I'll be out of here soon, just joined the air force so I'll be goin ina few month with plenty of money......or ya last resort would be just ride around scrub and hit some natural terrain hits, thats always good for riding/jumping and distance judging skills...

yeh the Kaos "fellas" are from ippy, they got a mad set up but i don't know how they would go having a a truck load of moto riders rockin up to utilise their ramps and shite. But there are rural places, its a matter of finding them and knowing ppl that would be willing to give you guys some much needed help.
Steve keep ur ear open for property out this way, as i will be too, but i might look into some alternative options and let you all know

Im a Brissy rider and there are VERY few riding spots around the place left, most have been shut down or destroyed. There was an excellent track in Samford untill some lil **** who couldnt ride to save himself broke his neck on a 30 Ft jump!! the dad sued the land holder and that got scratched, anyway back to the point my mates and i go all the way out to Logan to Paradise road, its starts off as a normal road and then turns into a dirt road, keep goin until you go over a bridge and then keep goin about another 500 meters until you come to a top of a hill, park there and the land is free to ride, some ok jumps, and natural terrain, aswell as a few step ups and recently there was a metal kicker further out, anyone who wishes to come by all means check it out, its not awsome but its something, aswell as some jumps which most places lack when its free to anyone. if anyone knows any better spots let us know, esspecially north side areas, it would be much appreciated

i know of an old quarry that is in ipswich there is a huge jump that you jump from the bottom of the quarry to the top andim sure you can make some more good jumps just pm me to tell you the location i dunno if its sill there but i think it was it was there about 5 weeks ago

Ray Hunter runs the Kaos setup and is too busy with work and understandably not to keen on kids riding his setup. he does however have a contact # in the current freerider Mx mag.

Paridise road sucks... i've ridden there for yonks and there is not alot there. was there yesterday and it was crawling with bikes and deep in mud... fun. but its more of a trailride spot.

i'm interested to know where this ramp was out there? i know the area well and have never seen one there. was it in the qaurry just off where you said? there is a few lil jumps there nothing, i mean nothing bigger than 40 feet.

Hey i was driving back from goldie from King of the coast, and peaked out to the side of the road near Yatala South turn off, and saw a huge playground of bare area, with what could be a huge tabletop and other jumps (it's just piles of dirt, but with a little imagination ;) )
does anyone ride out that area at all?

You could go to Black Duck Valley its about an hour from Ipswich just into gatton. It has 3 or 4 MX tracks and some freestyle jumps. I think it is $25 dollars a day and $5 per night to camp.

yes i usedto ride at yatala. its got signs up, and some construction is going on. was fun many years ago. had some nice jumps. but the idiots burnt cars and dumped shit everywhere, some guy got seriously injured too. now you cant go there.

Yeah Mulisha its out near the industrial area, just past the step up and small quarry, it was up a huge trail, tho my mates and i thought about taking it, so obviously someones beat us to it, unless its still there and you just didn't find it, it was setup for about 60ft which was good, tho i'd love to show you where it's at or atleast where it was, neways catcha's

Ay guys, i went drivin around for work the other day and i was out at Kingston, i took a wrong road to find some College there and found myself up on top of a hill with a fence around it saying Trespassers will be prosecuted, so idecided to investigate further to find a huge quarry... has anybody known about this and ridden there? it looked awesome!!! let us know cos i'm very willing to ride that little gem

Now i live at Oxley, i rode at Oxley motox trk a few times but sik of forken out money and aven 2 sit down for most of the day waitn 4 seniors 2 get a go. That fort Lyton trk out near gateway bridge looks good...u been?I heard theres some sort of freeriding spot out near the gateway bridge( i was looking for this and stumbled across fort lyton motox trk lol) , u know anything bout it?

theres a place about 1hr from brissy called black duck valley.its an awsome place to ride ,its got someyhing like 2 supercross tracks 4 moto cross tracks and a freestyle track...including 97 enduro tracks, ud have too look it up on the net cos im not completly sure on the tracks..So if yas want some where to go these holis go there trust me its good...ill b there!

i live in gympie wich is about 2hrs north of brissie. im always seein brochures for a park called BDV-black duck valley. i am poretty shore it is close to brisabane and my local shop says it is really good with 3mx tracks and a heap of awesome trails.

Especially after some idiot woman decided she'd drive up my arse on my way to Brisbane from Maryborough way... In closing, Yes, Black Duck Valley has been noted as a fairly good spot to ride at with a Freestyle part to it also, Stewart Mullaburn told me thats the only spot he's ridden and practised for X-Rated, with a big 120 Footer, so mustn't be too bad of a place to ride ;)

Yeh also a good place to ride is Glen Echo Park. Its got a good mx track but i was there 2weeks ago after alot of rain so there was huge flowing creeks and the mx track was more of a mudrun. the rule is that your bike has to have minimal regestration to be able to ride at black duck valley, this this will cost you $125 a year which i think is farking rediculus, i bet you that basically no one here will be bothered to get that shit and then pay another $25 everytime you go....

BD valley is dangerous, they have MASSIVE boulders behind berms, virtually no stopping distance after the 125 and 80 ft jumps with boulders behind them, no medic's on scene or nething like that, i had a huge crash up there and i must admit i would of been fine except boulders tend to stop u dead in ur tracks when u go over a berm, plus i know of a case where a guy went down bloody hard and needed urgent medical attention... 45mins later is when they arrived, and i can see someone sueing black duck valley for neglegence, and $25 a day what a rip off, i mean its fun and all but u get off cheaper at proper race tracks and only half the travelling time, until they clean it up or lower the prices to match their safetly level i will never be as fond as black duck as i could be.

Yeah . I used to live a paddock away from that quarry. It was alright. Used to ride there every day or two. There are heaps of places out that way if you know where to look. You can make your way from Rosewood all the way to Redbank by trail and back roads if you take the time to explore. There are heaps of quarries to ride in, although I remember some places being bulldozed so you could get in there. One time out at Bundamba I was ridijng at a spot and rode over what I thought was a mould of dirt to find a massive trench on the other side for me to nose dive into...

hey kids my name is GUZ and i've lived and ridden in Briz-vegas all my life..The land available for riding has slowly disappeared and been swallowed up by shitty developers. Paradise Rd out at Browns Plains used to be Ok, but just recently almost half the area has been swallowed up by a development. There are still some good sandy single trails out there that are pretty fun after a bit of rain, but as far as jumps go, there arent any anymore~!
Which leaves me and the rest of the swappers around here pretty stuck.

I still reckon Black Duck is probably the best place to ride anywhere at the moment..dont listen to anyone that reckons its not, they are just wankers! The guys out there are constantly making new hits, and are open to suggestions..The new license thing has been put on the back burner too, so you dont have to worry about that shit for a while!

Other than that, all I can suggest is join a club. Reedy Creek is probably the most technical at the moment, oxley Kilcoy and Coolum all require you too be a member now before you ride which is totally ****ed...Wynnum is okay, and Ive seen a ramp down there, but I think you have to know the guys too be allowed to use it..

There's also stanmore, good track out at yatala. Redbank plains golf coarse (don't know if it's shut down now or not) and a few other shitty places here and there. There's also a place out at logan reserve...kinda like a small compound, don't know what it's like now though. I've also heard about a quarry out tamborine mountain, which i'm really interested in, anyone know where it is????

ok my turn i guess to spill some out, there is this pace on the north side called bridge to nowhere is pretty awsome, exceot that the cops come up and try and scare u but the thing is they cant get to u unless your on the road. It like full bush with a road through the middle of it. Its heaps easy to get there if u dont mind driving out redcliffe way. Another one i dont know if anyone can go there is at daybra, where teh northern district motorcycle club is. Thats where i did trials for all those years and the compound there is pretty mad. They also have comps there and stuff

theres also some psyco hillclimbs, i fell off about 3times trying to get up, other people fall off about 13or so times. its funny cause when u fall off you slide down the hill about 5m or so with all the rocks.

Nice. I've been planning to ride at ormeau for a lonngg time. I ride close to it, in a pine forest. I might one time just go for a huge ride along the powerlines and go to the ormeau trails. They're all around Vennor Road, right?

one of my friends dads drives a off road buggy and he went out bush bashing on an old golf coarse out at brookfield/springfield way so i'll try and find out as much as i can cause apparently there were some bikes out there doing some jumps and stuff so i'll see what i can find out...

riding now days is getting very limited..
all the MAQ motorcross tracks at great if you have a licence....
people get the impression that you can only get an MAq licence for $150 or more.... but im here to tell everyone other wise....
how much may you ask? suprisingly only $85.50 yes you heard me right... only $85.50 once you invest that little sum ONCE A YEAR then you can ride any track you want in Queensland... no more of this finding places... the places are found for you....
well i better leave it now, this was just an idea...

Hey mate, the ride was sic as, we did loads of hillclimbs and some fast! trails. The open-space was nothing great, but it had some STEEP hillclimbs, and I mean 50metre+ high hillclimbs. There's also a little tiny tabletop, but it's nothing exciting.

Yeah, The golf coarse out near brookwater is called Redbank Plains, it's mad as. I only rode there once, but it was heaps fun. A lot of natural jumps, some of them can easily get you 60+ foot air in length. You should go there before tehy develop the area into housing ey.

really? thats just for clubs, then you have to join one, and in Wheelies, KIlcoy and Coolum you have to be a member to EVEN Farkin practice now~! Wynnum has ZERO lines, Reedy will be closed by the devolopers soon and that only leaves Stanmore, which is kinda fun, but no big gaps... Blackduck is freakin rad but an hour and a half away..so yeah IM LOST! If someone opens an area close to Brisbane , with some sort of knowledge about what riders want (WEekend warriors being a prime example on how to totally F&*K up), they will make a million BUCKS!

Yeah, I know it's bad. But that cant really stop you from riding there, most places are usally out of the way and it always takes time for the ambo's to get there. Last time I was out there they wanted footage of the crash - maybe for legal resons or somthing. The guy was a good quad rider and was doing the 100ft when it happened

if ur talkn bout blackduck recently i got told otherwise from a very reliable source that an old quad(farm) came off a track and had been jumping it and he was driving along and one of the shocks blew he fell off and gotta rock lodged in his head and he was wearing a helmate.....???? dead instantly

Nah, but I was out there the other week and a few guys were telling me, they said it was one of the two quad riders that ride out there all the time.

So I dont know which story is right, thats just what I heard.

hey!!! k well i live on the northside of brisbane an well i usually go to fort lytton at wynnum but sometimes we go down to stanmore and up at tivoli at ipwsich but theres not many places to ride around brisbane.. well not that i know of!!
and i heard that there closing reedy creek.. and tivoli!! has anyone heard bout that??

yeh stanmore is really bad like that... you go out for a ride and you have to wait for like all the lil kids on peewees and 85s to go out for ages an then like all the really good riders and then like the older guys who arent so good.. an theres like 4 or 5 classes, then theres juniors!! its crazy!! but at lytton its good cause like you can go out whenever you want and go in for a rest and then be able to go out again and theres not heaps of people riding

yeah but lytton is a shit track because they cant operate a machine to save themselves..it doesnt flow, and i hate herson..but yeah its probably the closest at the moment with the least hassles...I have a mate with a track we built oout at Laceys Creek but its gone to sh1t because we just ran out of money to keep maintaining it..

well it was good, we had two nice tables, and a section of three doubles, but its really pretty dangerous at the moment..lots of gnarley bumps and stuff on the run ups..its out on laceys creek rd, but dont bother looking for it, its way of the road away from the public eye :) we also met this guy with a perfect ramp set up on top of mt mee...but hes a bit of a squeezer (if you know what i mean) and we only got to ride there once...BOO

black duck was so good yesterday..they have made some of the jumps where they needed it, bigger (like that little gay table out of the corner after the hundred footer, its now a nice sit down 3rd gear table) and they have made some small landing bumps on track 2 instead of flat landings. The place continues to impress me...great FUN! also track 4 used to be pretty sketchy, but they have fixed all the tables...i must have cut 30 laps on that baby..so much fun :)

i no a few places to ride but they all are trials like mt mee u have to have a registred bike and there are other state forest to. a kilarney ride is coming up soon thats pretty fun. i usauly just ride at lytton.

All I'd like to say is any1 who even considers that it is allright to sue anyone for allowing them (money involved or not) should stay the F$%k away from places such as Black Duck Valley and the likes....If you see boulders and shit at the end of berms, simply dont be stupid and hit the jump....check it out b4 hand and if it looks dangerous make your own mind up b4 you hit it....We have bugger all places to ride like this and any f^&ked up lawsuits against them would pretty much diminsh the chance of others opening, All i'm saying is if you cant jump on your bike wherever you are and cop any injury you sustain to yourself on your own chin...give up ridin. This sort of shit is half the reason coppers come down so hard on ya for ridin on gov land, to many weasels tryin to sue the gov for their own mistakes.......

Theres a couple a places to ride around Redland Bay which is in the bayside suburbs. there is land getting developed around here and there are drop like things what you can dig out and flat land but they arnt very good.

if u wanted to go ridin there ud hav to watch out for the coppers.

There is a heap of dirt you could take home and build a lander for ur kicker.
i dont really advise to go there, i just thought id post anyway!!!

i have been living in brissy for a few weeks now and have gone to springfield with a mate, few small hill climbs and stuff, there is a fair bit of bushland out there and i am yet to explore it all. not for fmx but still a decent spot to ride. just look up where the springfield college is and you can park at thetop of the hill across the road. I went out last weekend and there was a couple of utes with ramps and stuff but didn't see any of the riders out in the bush. can always hear a few bikes getting around through.

iv only just got back into riding , as a kid i used to kickit around my local area (redbank plains ) but now its always full of cops on bikes and pretty much anywhere goof has been destroyed by construction ..


so nowdays i ride a place out at rippley im sure some of the locals know where im talking about . !

other than that its the big hike out to black duck , theyre the most hasstle free riding spots out this way other than haggard back woods shit . wich is fun for about 15 minutes when you realise your just riding along the same old shitty trails ,

I live in Logan at browns plains, go riding at greenroad and johnson road but thats about it. Hard getting a lift to BDV when your just a kid i suppose. Anyway i was wondering any spots closer to browns plains then BDV that has more then just trails?

Yeah, I rode at lytton the day it got shut down. sucks. There's still Stanmore, Reedy Creek, Tivoli, Beaudesert sand track, Ripley and Blackduck.

ok cool, but do you need a licence to ride at them places?

you don't have to, you can pay for a day licence, but it's way cheaper if you're just going to ride them (not race) to at least get your recreational licence through MA. I think recs are real cheap, like $80 or so.

if you are keen to drive about 2 1/2 hours from brizzy there is a place called glen echo , only place i have riding , its pretty good but although im just learning so people may have a different opinion about it .

hey im new to the site and riding aswell but my mate went riding in boondall wetlands and got fined and got his bike taken off him so i mean ride at your own risk of that!
