One thing about the cheap copy's is they wont be "c ticked" so the importers and sellers of the bike can get upto $10000 fine per item if they interfer with any radio gear or tv's etc.. "c-tick" is a communications thingo that any and every item sold in australia must have including imported products.

thats so true what aload of crap not everyone can afford a decent bike either so by buying a cheap one from ebay its so called a stolen bike?? i know whats being done here is very wrong and it shouldnt be allowed so if thats the case there should be a law against any sort of trading of these products theres too many loop holes and in the end the customer suffers when his cheap crappy so called thumpy gets taken off him due to a shitty law system if there illegal to own wipe them out all together go straight for the traders there at fault not the buyers i dont think its fair that the customer cops the wrath of doggy traders

Eh? When did I once bag out ANY brand bike? I dont think the article even bags out any brand, it bags out rippoff brands and back yard operators if I read it right...
Ask my mate about fake Thumpstars, he fully thought he had the real deal till it broke badly after 3 hours riding... He wasn't happy when he found out it wasn't even a thumpstar but a cheap ripoff worth about half the price... He bought it so called "New" privately i think from the trading post and had no come back... Kinda like buying a bike off Ebay.. The article basicly to me says, buy the genuine brand from a proper dealer not some backyarder who thinks mini bikes, pocket bikes, mini choppers or whatever is a quick way to make a $$$...
I think that is what the article is sayin and not baggin out any brand... So how you somehow think I posted that because I will be selling Pitboss is behond me... Really I cant see how you came up with that.... I simply posted a article from a MAJOR newspaper that I thought was interesting and firgured it was a good time to sneak a little info to you lot about whats in the works....

*HEY MR.3D* I work for Mojo Motorcycles, the importer of the bike you have in your photo. It is great to see you are impressed with the quality of the bike.
Please call the dealer you purchased the bike from, or us directly on 03 9874 8722 to get your free Mikuni carby. They were sent out to all the dealers today.
Some people are quite ignorant to the way in which manufacturing occurs today. Everything is assembled in China, however within China you have a wide variety of different manufacturing companies. From the so called "back yard jobs" to large manufacturing companies that are strategic partners with Yamaha, Honda and other large motorcycles companies.
The manufacture of your bike also supplys to other large motorcycles companies that I will not name. However, we have the exclusive contract for the importation of your model into Australia.
If anyone else is after info, please check link for info on Mr. 3D's bike.
*HEY INSANE*, I can understand when you say that you have to watch out for cheap bikes on eBay. Importers should certainly not be selling cheap bikes, with thin fork, weak swing arms and offer no spare parts support. The one in which some sellers advertise bikes is also quite questionable and probaly in breach of applicale trade law.
However, this refers to SOME imports. 95% of the bikes on eBay are cheap pieces of crap that fall appart. The bike in the photos actually has 36mm front forks, alloy swing arm, 3 valve engine, front & rear disc brakes just to mention a few features.
From the information I have available I would have a rough guess that the majority of parts used are also used in the SDG.
The bike is also very reliable and made to high quality standards. How do I Know? I have owned one personally for three months and it has not missed a beat. We have also distributed hundreds to major motorcycles retails and the feedback has been very positive.
I understand you cannot reasonable validate the reliability of all articles you read and publish. However, this article appears to be very biased.
The company I work for imports from IS9001 compliant suppliers, the bikes meet Australia ECC standards and the bikes have approval by DOTARS. They are then sold through licensed motorcycles traders.
The assumption that because it is not a Pit Boss, Thumpster or Desert it is therefore illegal and poor quality is outrageous. Many dealers have previously sold such brands and have now moved over to our product.
*TO CONSUMERS*: Yes, there is a lot of shit floating around, and there is also a lot of good quality bikes. Just make sure when you purchase one that is a reliable brand and backed by a solid warranty. Most bikes under $2,000 are generally heaps of shit. Just ask around and make sure you see the bike in person!.
Just my 5 cents worth.

Thanks for your post Jcarter and I know the article is a little biased but at the same time you cant expect them to list every decent bike either nor quote people from every major importer. I don't think the article bags any brand bike and I think all the article is really saying is buy a well known brand that meets Australian ECC standards... Like the bike you sell. Its not some cheap bike from a factory that just popped up to sell mini's and pocket bikes or some guy on ebay with 101 bikes from some brand nobodys ever heard of.
From what you say in the above quote, the bike your company sells is what people should looking for.

Seriously I dont want offend anyone but sometimes I wonder if some of the users here need glasses....
Not too mention, I really get pissed at people who accuse me of bullshit... Did you even read the article or the posts or what? WHERE DO I BAG OUT ANY BRAND BIKE OR SOMEONES ELSE PRODUCT AS YOU PUT IT???? As I've said before the article to me says buy a legit brand and save yourself some hassles.. I simply posted it so the users here would be better informed and if it stops one little 12 year old wasting all his pocket money on a piece of crap that lasts 2 weeks then I dont dont see a problem...
I can't see why you seem to take it so personally and seem to think I have some sort of agenda.... I don't and really I don't care what you think, I know why I posted the article and it had nothing to do with the fact I sell Pitboss.
