Proby the crf is the better but depends on the thumpys running gear like the front shocks will be stronger than honda stock shocks with spring inserts.

i just changed my rear shock in my 05 thumpstar to a KTM unit i had on hand.

i think i will have less problems with the thumpstar cause like on the honda little thing will probibly break.... like the fork legs n rims n spokes n stufff......wot u think..?

the frame is the main problem on the stock crf's right at the neck they break .. the thumpstar's are good value might have to change the odd thing but as an over all they a strong bike built for the heavy blokes

i would get the CRF, they are heaps stronger than thumpstars.
stronger fork legs are only somethin like $100.

you will regret buying the thumpstar dude.
the honda will also have better resale value.

i wasnt talking about just the frame:rolleyes: , i was talking bout the whole bike in general.

yes the frame might be stronger but thats it.
and there are plenty of ways to strengthen it cheaply.

you would have to land extremely hard to tweak the frame even the slightest.;)

i would get the thumpstar...i reckon the crf50 sounds better than that xr50 u wont.for staters its a year older so wen u sell it u will get more money and it's got a hyper s stage 88cc kit in it...and the other 1 probably on has a standard s-stage

it would make the differnce cause 1 is called a crf and the other is xr.i now only the plastics and the year is different but some people look for that

if you want bang for buck go the thumpy but besure to go over the bike and make sure everything is okay as ive heard the 05 model can loose parts nothing a quick once over wont fix

wish people would stop talking shit about the 05 thumpys .. gotta wonder about maintenace with some people ... my bike is fine nothing wrong with it bit of a ***** to get out gear when running but i dont really care.. coz i know the trick to make that happen.

Other than that no parts falling off chain slider is wearing like a chain slider would (metal on plastic = plastic wears) but i keep and eye on it will change or fix if i see a problem, front shocks pissed me off at first but they coming good now, rear shock went to adjust it and pump it up but had brain storm and changed it out for a better unit i had on hand eg KTM LC 50 pro shock.

I might be one of many 05 thumpy owners but i happy wid my bike 4 strokes rattle bolt so ya gotta tighten shit up , i check my bike over but nothing really has been loose anyways. i tightened everything the day i got the bike.

dude humpstars are just rip offs of Hondas i had one but sold it!!! cause it was crap.... and ofcaise there not as good as hondas if the are rip offs... the 04 modles are better built that the 05 ones too!! my mates have 04 ones and they have neva had any real trouble wih them!!

i have heard alot of good things about 2005 model thumpstars but i have also heard bad things.just like every new bike they have a few teething problems.but i cannot judge cause i have not rode 1 myself...but i agree with keighran being that the 2004 model thumpstars were built well cause i have not had 1 problem with myn.

problem with most things is if one person has a problem they'l vent and tell like 5 people but if someone loves the item they might only tell 1 person.. pissed off people will allways tell more people it just how it is.

I think most of the first few people with thumpys might have had loose bolts and shit coz the first of the 05 run was rushed out and quality control probly wasnt the best befor xmas

some people would get there 05 thumpy's home and wouldnt check for loose bolts or anything just go staright out and ride them...not all bikes can be assembled perfect adn every nut tight as can be everytime.just amagin how bikes the bike shops have 2 put together.there just teathing problems...if the people had any common bike sense they would no 2 check over these things wen they buy a new bike
