Hey Guys,

Im a keen wakeboarder and have been for many years and was wondering if there are any other wakeboaders/FMX'ers out there?

Whose up for a wakeboard sometime? Thanks to all the help i've recieved from this forum with my FMX'ing, i feel that i might be able to give back what i have recieved. So, I usually head to the central coast, NSW so if anyone wants to have a board or wants to learn... send me a PM!

Cheers..

Jay

WAKEBOARDING IS HELL GOOD TO WATCH, i tried wakeboarding but gave up, it took me over 20 shots to get up out of the water (no exaggeration) and when i was up i got a whole heap of choppy water and went straight back down. I havent tried since

I love hitting the wake, but it sucks a bit cause I don't have a boat. It's not too bad, alot of my mates wakeboard and own boats.

I found it pretty easy also because i've done alot of skating and a bit of snowboarding...

Nubreed: Whats sorta rig you ride behind and where in sydney do ya ride.

My mates got a fresh green/white Super Air Nautique 210 mighta seen him out if you ever board on the hacko. Gotta get out there early in
the summer though by about 9am on a nice day every man and his dog is out there.

Just started to get into it this summer(just past). Went upto Ecchuca a few times camping and had a blast-loved it. At first I had a biatch of a time gettin gup,a few tips from mates who have been doing it for a while, and got up 1st go. Those who try it and give up,dont-as you dont know what youre missing out on.

i have heaps of friends with wakeboard boats, malibu's, ....

One of the guys(friend of a friend) had his Malibu Wakesetter while we were there. After going out on another friends smaller boat, going behind that thing..ITS A MACHINE!! I was starting to get comfortable behind the smaller boat jumpingfrom wake to wake-behind the Malibu though..hahaha..NO WAY!!!Its great being in that thing cruising up the river with the sterio blasting in it.

Makes me wish I had $60g's to buy one:(

Mals are ok, I've got a Lewis Challenger, my crew and I go at least twice a week, even in winter, I pretty much stopped riding motos for wakeboarding.. Less injuries..

yeh the malibus r crazy hey. weve only just bought our boat but were thinking of getting a malibu or maybe a lewis..not sure yet tho coz im more of a skiier and a barefooter and our boat picks up speed faster than a malibu, but luv the wakeboard just to do crazy shit.

Speaking of injuries, last time we went(long weekend) one of the guys hit a double up-timed it PERFECTALLY!!!! It was insaine, couldnt believe how high he got;guys/girls that were out on a houseboat watching were standing up clapping n shyt..anyways,obviously he was pumped,so went to throw a scarecrow straight after..ate shit when he landed and couldnt wakeboard for the rest of the weekend :Z428:

PS:He did it sat morning,we were there till tuesday,so you can guess how pissed he was-but was still stoaked about how high he got off the dbl up :clap4:

I'm gonig to a cable park thisarvo. Should be good. Normally hire a good board with the propper bindings/boots. There is also hell skinny surfboards that are awesome for cutting it and snapping back.

It was shit today. Too many people and the water was ****ing like ice and I didn't have my wetsuit.

The Snitz
5th June 2005, 12:01 AM
lol!!! Only reason i question going to the cable park... always seems to be colder than everywhere else! Then again the Mary River aint that much better in Winter... not sure if I'll brave it this winter.. I did last time with my shoulder reconstruction (stupid but I had nothing to do :p)

5th June 2005, 12:17 AM
LOL. Yeah, today I had the theory of staying dry. Just cruize around and when I get tired cut out hard and go to the bank without getting wet. It worked great, my head stayed dry! Lol. **** me, when my body went under I jsut locked frozen straight away. Then went numb and was all warm and fuzzy feeling. I managed to do it next time, hit the bank with speed.

The Snitz
5th June 2005, 12:23 AM
Yeah I try that too... but I manage to try to do a trick at the other end of the place, then fall off, freeze my arse off, but then walk about 200metres back to the start lol.. that warms you up pretty quick that big walk. I think they need some sort of conveyor belt that u sit on and it takes you back

sxc_shelly
5th June 2005, 12:27 PM
I think uz need to invest in a dry-suit, I bought one about 4 years back and it's still as good as new. You can wear as many clothes under it and you dont get cold or wet. You can go out in winter when no-one else is on the lake and the water is like glass. Only downside is you think ur in the water so you go to do a wetty warmer, not a good idea haha. Best feeling is taking it off and bein dry! Best thing I have EVER bought!

I take a bunch of pro wakebaorders motox riding... and they teach me to wakeboard better.

Jeff Weatherall (aus #1 wakieboarder) has hit my ramp. Hes jumped 75ft of the kicker and flipped at Pastranas house! He's pretty dam good on a bike and is on Nitro Circus III running down the road naked at the start when they all catch the bus.

Just this past week inbetween Crusty shows I hung out with Ants and Robbo at the sunny coast cable park. Learnt to ride the ramp and a rail there... was heaps of fun.

I taught world champ chick wakeboarder Andrea Fountian to ride my bike too... I rekon wakieboarders are the best to party with :)
