Sydney. It's the biggest arena of all of them. Hence more space, bigger jumps, better riding.

I like how they say Seth "previous world record holder"... Not.

Is that so young one? Perhaps you could show me something official stating that? Oh wait, you couldn't, cause it doesn't exist... He never got the record. He was building up to it in 2000 and went long with it set at like 210ft and flatlanded at 245, 6ft short of the record, and smashed his head in. So he wasn't a world record holder, like I already said. Have a nice day.:drink:

This is from the Johnnie Airtime ramp Jumping site

RAMP TO DIRT RAMP MOTORCYCLE JUMPING WORLD RECORDS

RAMP TO DIRT RAMP. This category puts a ramp in place for the launch and uses a landing ramp made of dirt for the landing. This is measured just as a ramp to ramp jump would be measured, with ramp gap being primary, then total distance and then clear gap. Dirt is an entirely different medium than ramp structures and deserves its own category. Those who overjump a ramp to dirt ramp jump and land on flat ground will be listed as a flatlander.

a. RAMP GAP. The most important ramp to ramp record is measured in ramp gap. The ramp gap is the measurement from the high end of the launch ramp, past the flat, approximately level dirt protective apron, to the highest and nearest point of the downward angled dirt landing ramp.

Current 500cc record holder: Trigger Gumm, 193 feet, 11-11-03, Diamond Bar, California

Previous 500cc record holder: Seth Enslow, 180 feet, Apple Valley, CA.

Current 250cc record holder: Ryan Capes, 210 feet, 9-19-03, Las Vegas Speedway, Las Vegas, NV.

b. TOTAL JUMP DISTANCE. This record is of secondary importance to the ramp gap world record. This is the longest total jump distance ever recorded in ramp to dirt ramp jumping. It is measured from the top end of the launch ramp to the nearest edge of the nearest mark made by the motorcycle.

Current 500cc record holder: Trigger Gumm, 208 feet, Diamond Bar, CA, November 11, 2003 (Jeff Laubscher)

Previous 500cc record holder: Seth Enslow, 204 feet, Apple Valley, CA

Note: this was the day before SE's 245'3" crash in Apple Valley, CA

Current 250cc record holder: Ryan Capes, 260 feet, September 19, 2003, Las Vegas Speedway, Las Vegas, NV

Note: Seth's triple clamp broke off during his 229 foot total distance jump, which is not listed here.

c. CLEAR GAP. This record is for the rider who jumps the largest clear gap with a dirt landing ramp.

Current 500cc record holder: Seth Enslow, 160 feet, Apple Valley, CA

Current 250cc record holder: Ryan Capes, 190 feet, 9-19-03, Las Vegas, NV

Ok Im a goose too......lol
I sufferred from some serious typonese there Its Seth Enslow :D

GStylEr
21st January 2005, 11:05 PM
Haha, I know what I was saying... People claim he got the true distance record when he never did. Those ones are records for ramp to dirt, since Doug Danger used a wooden landing ramp when he did 251ft in 1991... First person to break the total long distance record since then was Jason Rennie, with 253ft in 2001 I think, and then Capes with 260... Seth's records are technicalities. It all depends where you draw the line I guess. He goes big, it just annoys me a bit when so many people love Seth and believe the crap he says about Capes when it's not true. That's all.

stikman
21st January 2005, 11:14 PM
No worries mate, Yeah it sucks that guys like Capes do the hard yards and dont get the recognition from some people.........he ISNT fake he made the jump and is rightfully deserving of the record. Its up to Seth to come up with the goods eh lol

Can I just say no matter whether you are riding a 125 or 900cc bike, a distance record is a distance record. I sent an email to Guiness Book of Records, asking if there were seperate records for different capacity sized bikes. They replied no there is only one class of world distance record on a motorcycle, and its the riders choice what size bike he rides.
