Righto Rhys, Soon as i got meself a Digi Cam for me B-Day, I've put it to some good use. Here's my lil mini ramp, I've talked about. A Lot of people asked me if it's for 50's, and well, i guess ya could use it for 50's or BMX, Aaaaaaaaaand YES, ya can use the big bikes on it. We mainly use it as a mini kicker. The most we've had the gap set at is 25ft. (Thats about the max ya can have it for the big boyz, otherwise it cops a bit too much of a floggin, lol) :D

OK, well here ya's go, just to prove that we do hit my mini ramp on the big bikes, here's Mungoman188 slammin it on his 125 about 10min ago, hehe, God bless Digi Cams.

(I took this shot, for the soul purpose of sein how much compression there was, hence, why i wasn't too worried about not gettin his head in the shot, lol.)

hehe, Yeah, ya gotta be on the ball to get the shot taken at the right time :D Uuuuuuuum, i think the back tyres right, it's just that the ramp is short and it kicks ya up rather fast. So i think it's just cause the back wheels hittin it that hard that it pushes it down. The front ones still compressed a bit still aswel, at the top of the ramp.

Well, while we're on the subject of MY lil ramp, this is a pic of my OLD piece of wood that i had on it. Here's the four one one. The boyz were riding it for a few hours juuuuuuust after it had rained and due to me not putting any kind of weather proofing on it, the wood was really soft, and well, lets just say it didn't have the adequite support rrrrrrright at the bottom, where most of the pressure is........ Mungoman188's back wheel went through the wood and bent the support steel under it aswel. Oh, and no, he didn't get hurt or fall of or anything, infact, he didn't even realise he had broke it, go figure.

Oh, and i didn't have a digi cam when this happened, so i dont have a pic of the bent steel support on the frame.

It looks like that but you would be surprised, its strange, if you se it on flat ground you will see how steep it really is, not like competion steep but it gets ya up there, we started building that ramp ages ago when FMX was still a less considered sport, i just got off my arse and finished it. Just something to hit until i buy a proper ramp, Robert Adelberg's (i think thats how you spell his last name) ramp is looking good.

hey andy ya should cut the upright supports down so it makes a curve shape then just hang off the side rails and they'll bend to the transition then your ramp will be sweet.

make the final angle between 37 and 40 degrees and run that straight down for about two foot and then just keep on mellowing it off from there and it should turn out sweet.

heres an eg of what i mean ... dont use these angles though they are just an example. each angle is the angle from horizontal that will be made by connecting each vertical support with the next highest one .... don't put in little straight bits once you've got your vertical bit in just get a long piece of metal and tack it to the top or bottom... then get lots of weight and bend it so it's touching the supports and weld em to the supports and presto you've got yourself a perfect angle for 300 bucks less than getting it rolled!

mine cost about 500 buckeroos all up.
i used 2 sheets of 12mm ply, 100 bucks each. and about 75 metres 0f 30x30 galv square tubing, it was on special from midalia steel so i got over 100 bucks off, it was mint.

the reason i built mine with so many supports is because i don't have any curved rails to make the curve of the ramp. i couldn't be stuffed tryin to find a fabricator to curve the rails to how i wanted em, and i had heard it was pretty expensive anyway, like 200 bucks or somthin. so i just used a lot of supports, 11 to be exact, to make the curve, and support the ply. it worked out fine.
dunno if it worked out cheaper in the end tho, coz i had to buy so much tubing, but awell. next ramp i'll get some rails fabricated.
