The problem I'm having is that the painting options don't show up, even when I use the software rasterization thing.
Please help!!!

I'm no track maker by any means, but it sounds like you're trying to use the built in grey scale designer with Dillo....dont, use Photoshop and import the hightmap into Dillo....then again, "painting" could mean something to do with textures, for which I'm pretty sure you use Photoshop aswel and import them...Wait for Rob or Andy to get in here and they'll let ya know how it all "basically" works (I dont expect them to write you a tutorial, those are allready out there, for which you should checkout the main MCM2 sites) if you elaborate a tad more on what section you're refering to when you say "painting options".

You are at the start of a long journey. Track making is real hard to get started, and motivated, because of the time and effort needed to put in to make a decent track. Luckily for us (Being the MCM2 riders), we have great people that build them for us. As Brad mentioned, Rob and Andy. Check out the MCM Factory. VET_SPODEBOY has uploaded every single displacement map (Being the grayscale drawings) that he has ever created.
Here is a link. So you can copy and paste sections, like jumps and berms, to create your own track. http://mcmfactory.com/display.php?cat=tracks&id=1205
Also, go onto www.mauicool.org and login, or register if you haven't, and download the Armidillo Tuturial videos (There are 2 of them), and they were made by Rainbow studios. Definatly helps a lot.
Hope that helps.

It's best to use gradients in Photoshop, however some people use a program called Leveller (terrain program).
