Full Throttle Sports Press Release:
Another dominant performance by Full Throttle Sports Honda rider Troy Dorron on the weekend sees Troy with a massive points lead in the title chase for the Yamaha Super-X Open series.
With a fantastic crowd of over 4000 people in attendance, the spectators were on the edge of their seats with the thrills and spills throughout the day and the organizers (Full Throttle Sports) were thrilled with the great weather.
Pro-Open
What the field lacked numbers; it certainly didn't lack talent with the current Australian SX Championship leader- Jay Marmont in attendance. Joining Troy and Jay on the line were FTS Honda riders Jye Harvey and Lee Ellis and Motorex KTM's Cheyne Boyd. An interesting rider in the pro-Open field was Serco Motorsports Daniel McCoy on his 250 4-stroke. Normally a Pro-Lites class rider, Daniel was happy to get the extra experience even though he was underpowered against the 250 2-strokes.
Heat 1.
The gate drops and the holeshot goes to Boyd but Dorron was on his game with a quick pass on Boyd by the second corner. As the pack blasted away, Jay Marmont was working his way up the pack after a last place start.
As the pack worked their way around the challenging layout, Jye Harvey worked his way up into 3rd position behind Boyd. With Jye hard on Boyd rear wheel, Cheyne slipped over in a tight corner handing second place to Jye and a FTS Honda 1-2 at the finish. Lee Ellis in his first taste of Supercross for a long time finished in 7th place.
Heat 2.
The holeshot goes to Marmont with Boyd and Dorron in tow. As the work their way around the track, Jay Marmont slides out in a rutted corner, letting Boyd and Dorron through for the lead. Before long though it was Jays teammate who makes the mistake letting Dorron through for his second win for the day. Finishing order for heat 2- Dorron, Boyd, Marmont, McCoy, Harvey, Ellis
Heat 3.
Troy Dorron finally gets the holeshot with Marmont close behind. Cheyne Boyd had fallen in the first corner and remounts his bike covered in mud down one side of his body. Up front, the leading duo of Dorron and Marmont run an uneventful race with the only noteworthy ride being Boyd's charge up the field. Dorron wins his 3rd race for the day and it is hard to see him being beaten in the final
Final
Final race for the day and with the dust picking up a good start was at a premium. Marmont was the early leader with his teammate Boyd in 2nd and Dorron a close 3rd.
A good battle ensues between Boyd and Dorron as they push each other. Riding side by side over the huge jumps and bumps; the spectators were on their feet cheering the riders on. After a ding-dong battle that lasted several laps, Dorron was finally able to pass Boyd as they sailed over the huge triple jump side by side. Troy then took off after Jay Marmont who was able to pull away to a 4 second lead by this time.
As the laps fell away, Dorron was reeling in Jay bit by bit. By half way point of the final, Dorron was within a bike length of the leader and the pressure was too much for Jay to bare with Marmont making a silly mistake and running off the course. This left the way wide open for Dorron to take the lead and an easy win. Second was Marmont with Boyd in 3rd.

Pro-Lites
Heat 1.
The high pitch sound of the Pro-Lites fills the air and Cameron Sinclair takes the holeshot with McCoy in second and Harvey third. After some pressure from Harvey, McCoy falls and Jye now has a clear run on Sinclair in the lead. Quickly Harvey pulls up to Sinclair's rear wheel and passes him with apparent ease. Jye runs away to win heat 1 with Sinclair in 2nd.
Heat 2.
A big start by Kawasaki's Jason Andrews sees him in the lead with Jye Harvey caught up in a first corner pile up. With little effort shown, Jye steps it up a notch and cuts his way through the field to pass the leader with a lap to go and take another win. With this win it makes Jye 8 wins for 8 starts in the Yamaha Super-X Open series. Not bad at all!
Final
A hectic first corner saw several riders go down including Jye Harvey. With all the mayhem behind him, McCoy was able to pull away into an immediate lead with Harvey recovering from the carnage in 6th position.
While pushing hard to make up ground, Jye hit a rock hidden in the dust and falls again. Back on the bike and trying to work his way back up the field, Jye is unable to select 4th gear in the run up to the triple jump and cases the bike HARD and is unable to finish the race. Up front McCoy runs away with the win from BTX KTM's Brent Landman in second and Powerhouse Motorcycle's Cameron Sinclair in 3rd

Rider comments-
Troy Dorron-
"I felt pretty comfortable out there today with 4 stars for 4 wins. I rode my own race and was happy to be able to bring some momentum to next weeks Supercross at Parramatta. With Jay my main competition it was a good confidence booster to beat him."
Jye Harvey-
"My day started well with my 125 heat wins even though I was riding conservatively to keep my energy reserves for the 125 and 250 finals. In the 125 final I had a poor start and then hit a rock in the dust, which brought me down. I was then working really hard to make up placing's but as I approached the big triple jump I couldn't select 4th gear and I cased the last jump hard enough to make me blackout momentarily and DNF."
Lee Ellis-
"As I don't have a lot of Supercross practise I found that I was riding better as the day went on as I got the feel for the track. All in all I looked on today as a learning experience"
Injury Report-
Although Jye Harvey had a nasty crash in the Pro-Lites final, he is unharmed and ready to race.
Next race-
The team's next race will be at Parramatta Speedway for round 3 of the Australian Supercross Championships on Saturday night, April the 5th.
Making its debut in Parramatta will be the teams all new trackside workshop awning (see scale model below).
As part of Full Throttle Sport's aim to bring a new level of professionalism to Supercross and Motocross in Australia, they are currently having made their new track side workshop awning.
Printed and manufactured by Vivad in Melbourne, the awning will have ample room for 4 riders and support crew to work comfortably out of the weather while still allowing ample viewing for spectators.
The awning is designed by FTS's designer- David Rafferton. "We really want to bring a sense of the excitement and colour of motocross to the pit area while integrating with the transporter" said David who also designed the transporter, bike graphics and crew outfits.
This awning is the first in the country to utilities wide format digital printing and the quality is superb.
