Mark it out with a marking pen, then cut with a stanley knife or if thats too hard use a hacksaw or even a jigsaw. Then grab a file and file until its smooth and your happy with the shape. Remember though you can always cut more later but you can't put it back if you cut too much, take your time and start small. Same kinda deal with cutting guards.. Good luck!
Peace Out

put a grab handle from a car on the side so you don't have to massacre your sidecovers/airbox ... sure its not as cool as having big holes like the pros but it does the job and you can take em on and off if you decide to go to the race track!

When i cut mine i started by marking it with a pencil then cut it using a bench mounted jigsaw. Then i got the Dremel mini drill/grinder and got the desired shape. Then i got some really fine sandpaper and made the edges smooth. And do what Insane said by not taking too much off, little bit at a time.
Good Luck:)

Yeah i am happy with the results, i put my yellow back guard and black side plates on today, just a bit of a change, but the cut ones will go back on when i got to some jumps again, not too hard to change em over.

9th May 2003, 01:49 AM
i reckon cut guards look silly if you have no grab holes and a fat seat and a shaved seat and grab holes look silly if you don't have cut guards ... also shorts are good to ride in but not if your at the mx track!! then they look silly! lol
ohh and i hate backwards helmet visors ... thats gay looking and pointless!
Good Karma
9th May 2003, 01:53 AM
Yeah backwards visors are gay.
Just cut ya grab holes in ya bike and leave the rest alone is the way to go.
