I have only had the pleasure of hitting one ramp ever at a local sand pit. I hit it for a few hours 2 weekends in a row and I learned super mans, no footed cans little cliff hangers and a few more. But it got destroyed only 2 weeks after I discovered it and I do not have land to put a ramp on..... So I figured that I could keep progressing at the local MX track because they have a few good sized jumps (bigger gaps then the ramp). But its been about 4 months since I hit that ramp and I have been riding atleast once a week if not like 3 times (took 7 weeks off due to a shoulder injury) and I can't even do all the tricks I could do on that little 30 foot kicker style ramp. The point I'm trying to make is to ask you guys what are your thoughts, is it easier to do tricks off of ramps then it is to do off of mx style jumps at the track?

It all depends on the jump. If you get a good dirt jump that has a sweet pop then you can do anything you want off em.
Good thing about ramps is that they are consistent. Every time you hit it, its smooth and doesn't do anything to ya as you come off, so you can get real comfortable and try ya tricks as soon as your air born. Whereas with dirt jumps they are always changin and theres always the thought in the back of your mind that it may throw ya a curve ball and chuck ya around a bit. So you might wait to make sure it's a sweet jump but by then you ain't got the time to pull the trick you had in mind.
The other thing too is that dudes who build MX tracks aren't building the jumps with FMX in mind and so you often don't get as much airtime anyway because of the curve. There made to be hit at higher speeds and give more distance than height in the racing situation.
But hey if you can get ya tricks worked out at the track, the next time you hit a ramp you'll be laughin!!!

Yea the bigest jump out there is a 90 foot table but you only get about 10 feet above it. The best I have got off out at the track is a few no footed cans and almost got a few heel clickers.

Definetly ramps, I love em, they are so consistent, once I have my first hit of the day I can't stop, ya get addicted or something lol, dirts jump can be good if made right but after hittin a ramp I don't like dirt as much for tryin tricks...
