Insane
10th March 2003, 12:48 PM
DAYTON, OH - IFMA Freestyle Motocross made its return to Dayton after taking 2002 off. The competition was insane and the tricks were over the top.

Friday - Adam Jones started his Friday night with a very poor qualifying run but made the most of his finals appearance proving that professionals know when to turn it "on". Jones's run was nearly perfect capturing his seventh IFMA win of the year. Jesse Olson finished a well deserved second place with five side saddle lander combinations. Many think that Olson is just missing a Rock-Solid in his routine to put him over the top. Myles Richmond impressed the judges finishing third proving that he is getting comfortable with the high standards of the IFMA. Fourth place belonged to Andy Jones, followed by Drake McElroy. Beau Bamburg was close to winning on his birthday, but messed up his Kiss of Death finishing sixth.

Saturday - Adam Jones repeated Friday's performance with another victory. Jones's skills continue to sharpen as he begins to move away from being a rookie towards the lofty status of veteran. Drake McElroy finished second with a quality performance. McElroy's Switchblade to Saran Wrap isn’t done by anyone else and was enough to secured his qualifying number four. Beau Bamburg ended Saturday's run just like Friday's - landing the Sterilizer. Andy Jones had the Sterilizer in his run as well but needs a little more variety in his repertoire finishing fourth, just three tenths behind Bamburg. Myles Richmond ended his night in fifth with another good performance. Richmond said he was getting tired, but he still pulled off some really good stuff. Look for a win from "Mylo" Myles Richmond very soon. Doug Parsons got to sit in the "Hot Seat" for a little while after qualifying eighth and finishing seventh. That leaves Robert “Lil Dis” Distler in the eighth spot for the night. Distler is starting to come around, pulling off the combos the fans expect to see after returning from an injury and should be 100% soon.
