what does everyone think is the most difficult trick???
i reckon it is the backflip and the deadbody!!!
-=DV=-

double flip and 1 handed 360 flip, ive heard and read about soo many riders saying the basic flip is the easiest trick theyve ever done

dunno what tricks would be the hardest, but Deadbodys are pretty easy

chuck's body varial. and a no footed 360 or something around that sort. and a no footer 2 no hander 2 no footer would be impossible i reckon :)

are we being realistic here cause mate you looking at all the right top end tricks that like only 2 or 3 or even only 1 person can pull you know if you wanna think of all the hardest trick just watch the last x games
ssg indy flip => travis
360 one hander
360
heel click flip => Nate
ssg flip => Nate and Ox
off axis flip => deegan
body varial => chuck
i dont think you can really say a double flip as it unlanded otherwise the hardest trick could be a double grab rock solid barrel roll but all that would be bull shit

Lol dead bodies are pretty easy i guess?? I have cinda done one... Umm id have to say the ssg backflip?because it would be hard to get your legs out because the foward momention is poulling your legs in. All tricks are do-able so i dunno..

whats an off axis flip? Does anyone have a pic of chuck doin a body varial i havent seen it?
Mungoman45

An off axis flip is what Deegan claims to be a 360. As for the body varial, do a search in either this forum or "if you've got it flaunt it" for body varial, or X Games, both of which should find something on the matter :)

I'd be goin with the backflip SSG and perhaps something like a double grab hart. SSG's are harder than you think, well for some people, so a double hart would take a fair amount of work and technique to get down good. I find Indian Airs easier so that's why I didn't say Backflip Indy... Chuck's "Carolla" would be kinda hard, you get a little dizzy, but is probably mostly commitment like with the flip.

In my eyes....no.
Look at what Pastrana & Nate are doing as "360's"...they are very clearly defined as a 360, rotating the bike, damn near flat and pulling it around in a horizontal rotation, as aposed to what Deegan does, which is, try as he might, his bike just rotates verticlly around, and is slighty crooked...hence "off axis". That's what my main big whinge was last year in big air, and again this year, because what he calls a 360 and gets judged on, as being a 360, is far from it.

Sort of, Deegan doesnt really do them very well, he doesnt get his bike flat at all compared to nate adams and pastrana, his look like a stuffed up backflip but pastrana and nate's look like actual 360's, not takin anything away from deegan cos its still crazy that he is riding so soon after that huge crash

fair enough........i saw last years on tv but i havn't see this years yet n last years wasn't looking very '360ish' but then i didn't really have anything to compair it with and if his isn't as flat as nates or pastranas maybe thats y he didn't get scored as high

Yeah there definatley is a differnece in the rotation of Deegans flip compared to Adams' & Pastrana's as Mungo clearly pointed out.
Back to the topic,as mentioned I dont think nominating tricks that are only being done by a handfull of riders is a good indication of whats the hardest trick.
Definatley a ssg flip(as there are so many guys out there doing flips now,so adding in the grab is just a matter of timing..and BALLS:p)and also the heel clicker flip would be a hard one.
While on the topic of the flip(well just quickly),has anyone pulled a shaolin<<Spelling?? b'flip yet??? Just curious,as Id rate that if its being done as a hard one too:D
Cheers.

a very extended ssg flip would be quite difficult

a hart attack backflip would be sick

i really rekon that Dayne Kinnairds combos would be hard, to move your body around so quick and still have the tricks extended is crazy

well didnt take much to stir the pot around here and this one has been a subject of the 360 v of axis flip well to me the only time the deegan has really hucked out a 360 or something close was winter x when he slammed himself oh well the subject up for personal interpration
As for combos hell i think daynes other one that i think is worse is his mc metz to ssg indy full extension on the front and back off the bike is the same jump now thats just wrong
Other tricks like dowdys no handed shaolin has got to rate up there and richos no hand superman to indy can but this thread depends on wether on not your talking about a singular trick or including combos

dirtcowboy the double flip has been landed into a foam pit many a time by trav...only reason he didnt throw it down at X is koz he wanted to save it for the fmx finals...and by the time they came round...he was too concussed to try it ...theres actually a vid of him throwing it into a foampit on this forum somewhere...proving it is possible...making the double rotation and hitting the foam black side down...i consider that landed...cheers

well DV i aint deny that the trick is impossible i just believe until it is landed on dirt it you should really claim it but i think in a years time you will be able to cause i think trav will have it dialled for next years X and i have the vid of the double flip into the pit but doing it into the pit and throwing the sucker out and landing it on the dirt is a totally different thing with the speed of the rotation he has on a 100kg bike has a lot of momentum whats got me is how he figures that he is gonna slow it down to land it consistently on dirt.
But hey thats my opinion and yours is valid too i dont deny that at all i just feel that from my point of view until a trick is thrown down not so much in a comp even but thrown down on dirt to me at that point then its landed
But as you said he does land them in the pit tyre down my only concern is the impact from the increased rotation speed is gonna bounce him off the bike landing or if he is a lil off pancake him in to the downie

They said at X he's got the double flip on dirt. the only reason he didn't do it a X was because he hurt himself and could hardly see.

well i curious where did you hear this ??????????
and if he landed in dirt dont you think there would a vid or some piccies kicking around?
I think you will find that he was going to attempt it for the first time on dirt at x but he had landed it in the pit a couple of times

Yeah they never said Travis landed the double on dirt, because he hasn't. And I doubt he will anytime too soon, as in before X Games next year. As for pulling it consistently DirtCowboy, well as Travis has said, he won't be lol. Sounds like he just wants to do it once and that's it, cause he thinks likewise, stuff it up at all and the back wheel will explode so I dunno if the double will ever become permanent like the flip has.

23rd September 2004, 10:32 PM
well heres what i have to say on the double flip someone is gonna seriously get hurt even tho they might have it down a 1000 times in the foam because your spinning so fast that leaning forward and a brake check wont do anything meaning you will have to get the rotation right every time which just aint gonna happen because a good example of even normal flips are never identical evryone is different i mean look at trav at x when he came out and over rotated one of them after jumping the roll in see what im saying not all the flips go well theres always ones a little over or a little under rotated thats what im saying and now with the double it will be twice as hard to stomp it because like i said none of them are the same some will be a little over and some under and when your spinning that fast brake tapping aint gonna do jack and neither will panic revving it so therefore leaving one option and thats to get the flip perfect off of the ramp which will be alot harder to nail it
