KOTC The First Battle Of The Flip In OZ!?!?!

Well, well, they left it right to the last minute and I had every finger and toe crossed this was going to happen and it looks like it has... :cool4: :love:

Both Schuie and Maddo have entered King Of The Coast and I do believe it will be the first comp they have gone head to head in since they both got the flip dialled.... :scared2: :help: :hide2: :eyebrows:

Along with the other big names who have entered (Ian will post a full list in the next week or so I believe) its going be crazy ::bowdown:

Only a few weeks to go... Hmmm maybe if I sleep alot, it will come quicker.... :sleep:

both these guys are just coming back from major injuries, so i think putting the pressure on them to flip is stupid!! these guys have got the flip nailed but personally i would be surprised if either of them do it. so if they do it fantastic!!!! but it's a matter of risk verses reward at this point.
the event will be fantastic either way you look at, the level of riding is going to be off the hook!

I put my leave in like 2 months ago and it was all sweet and signed off on... But OHHHHH NOOOO!!! of course they have to fcuk me around like usual!!!!!:teeth:...

I reckon however its going to mad even without flips.. Everyone's riding has stepped up a heap since the last comp, not just Schuie and Maddo...So without the flip I can see quite a few top Aussies doing battle for the Crown... I hate to say it, but if niether flip IT MAY just make for "more" of a comp with at least 5 or so I can think of right now, riding well enough to win... Either way flip or not I'm happy just to see the battle... :)

Joel!!! What the hell! You show that punk ass commander of yours who's boss and get up here ASAP :D It'll be great to ride with you and the lads.

I Agree with the Maddo-Shuie thing, to a degree. These 2 riders romped it in at both KOTC last year and X-Rated this year respectively, and in most part because they had the flip. So from Racelines point of view, I can see why they're stirring up the "battle" in my eyes its all about crowd numbers in the end isn't it. But yes, we can't forget there is what..? 10 other Pro riders out there who can all easily take out the win. In a way, the pressure is let off the other riders, who may be able to take advantage of it. I don't think Dave (dirtjumpin) meant any offence by the Maddo and Shuie Show, but that's how it is being promoted, and that's how the kids will interpret it in the end, if it puts bums on seats, then that is the best thing for the comp :D
Anyway guys, I hope to see everyone there for a sterling weekend ;)

It was me... I mentioned the flip and didnt mean it too come out the way it did, like it was just going to be flips.. It is however the first comp since Planet X last year (When Maddo had flip and Schuie didn't) that they have gone head to head.. And it is the first comp since they both got the flip dialled hence the first time they are doing battle with both on even ground so to speak... Flip or not its going to be mad and as I said a post or 2 ago, without the flip would mean at least 5 riders I can think of will be doing battle for the win.... So, its all my fault, Im bad... lol

quick question, why is it all about shuie and maddo fliping, alot of other riders have the flip and sick tricks in their bag????????, e.g: noel cotter, matt cole, and a few others that i cant remember.

And fu#k yes its going to be a sick event, same with the 50 freestyle, well mainly depends on what we're riding (ramp 2 dirt, ramp 2 ramp??)

at close of entries (the final cut off was 5pm today) the pro list looks like this,
maddo, schuie, jacob, richo, sturto, adelberg, harry, thomsen,all are capable of winning
the am list will be available as soon as they are sorted, theres a lot of about 20 & a good field of 50s, i will post details of these catagories after the weekend

my opologise i bit a bit hard then sorry. just concerened that excess pressure isn't put on these guys to flip when they have come back from a injury. both these guys rip and i think will be serious conteneders without a flip, but i think the reason i snapped at dirtjumpin is because it belittles the effort the other riders in australia have put into their riding.
if the course is built right with the right ramps then it will be an amazing comp i think.

but in one way it good to see the way that you responded to that spook it shows how much of community the sport is and how much all the boys care about the others its environment where there is such a big chance of poeple being hurt and in most case the guys who are really in the sport when the boys push each other it is when they see their mate needs it but when they know they have the skills to do it. Its not to push them to pass their limits and injury themselves but to help them to progress.

And what you said about the flip is such a risk v reward trick and in turn it need a lot of respect and when it bites it bites hard and if you mind isnt fully on the job it ll catch you for it ie schuie crash being after jp pass away it took away from his concentration being fully there and it bite him badly.

The main thing is that all the boys get out there and ride their best and show every one a great show hopefully without any one going down and i cant wait to see all the boys put on a killer show

have had confirmation that jake bowen & chuckie will both be back at KOTC,so we now have australias FMX elite entered for what is lookin like the supa battle to be "KING"
hey also watched harry & richo performing at jomboree (willowbank dragstrip) yesterday on the new KAOS set up, it was all good, richo would seem to be a real favourite for the KOTC title

You Guys know what, im gunna just be happy to finish the event with a smile on my face, there is so much coming up and the pressure to flip is getteing to all of us riders, none of us want to be sidelined and both myself and shuie as stated above have just come back from narly accidents, so wat the heck come and see for yourselves, the battle will be like a world war out there, im sure all the boys are riding well and are feeling confident, i know im confident, and im throwing down a few combos and tricks that im sure will be good ammo to get me close to the crown at least!! all the best guys.........................Robbie.

hey guys , track etc is all set up, matty mac, robbie adelberg, insane & a few other early arrivals were checking it all out today, all gave it the thumbs up, aussie international & the reigning KOTC champ has arrived back from europe to defend his crown in what will be the battle of the best , with maddo schui richo chucki robbie a jake along with 6 other awesome pro riders, these guys are the very best comp riders in aust & are not frightened of goin head to head in open competition to prove who is the king, i wish them all the best, they are all xlnt riders & all deserve to win. WE must also not overlook the huge amateur entry (over 20) we have for this event, these guys are the future of the sport of FMX & are a major part of this huge event, there is also a good KOTC 50 big air entry.
At 2pm tomorrow we have the media day, then practice gets under way at 5pm, we need to see how this is goin to work under lites, there is a full program on the frt page of www.racelinepromotions.com
