Airbox / filter / seat / sideplate / subframe! nice long topic hey, HELP

hey,
my ramp is being made, and i need some help on cutting the sideplate.
i know how to, but do i have to shave the seat aswell as cutting the airbox and sideplate, im happy to replace the sideplate, but not a seat. my bike is a yz85 03` model.
i sed i will have a spare sideplate for racing.
so when i do racing, chuck on the new sideplate, when i do freestyle, put the cut one on.

depends on how thick the seat foam is, and how big your hands are.

but if you are really serious about fmx and racing, get another seat and cut the foam. trust me, it helps a LOT with seat grabs. If you leave the normal seat on, you will miss the grabs often, and they always end up very nasty...

seat is thick, for me anyway, i am short.
i am sought serious in FMX not that im anygood, but if i have a ramp, i might aswell try stuff. my aussie comp ramp is being built!!
and yeah i enjoy racing, does keep me fit. thanx for that crusty, i will get another seat when my ramp arrives and my sea container dad got me!!

hey when u get a fmx where do u get it from and what is it called and what brand and what 2004 model 85 should i get and fmx shorts and kneegaurds and should i make half of it black or somthing cus half way through next year or this year im getting a 2004 model 85 and maybe if dad says yes i will be getting a ramp made please reply and does any 1 here play medal of honor allied assult and is any 1 here from around nowra berry who does fmx cause i dont know of any 1 who does it and it kinda suxs cause like i want some1 to ride with or even start a group so yeh if u know any thing please reply thanks.:) :) :)

i dont think you can get 85 seats. but most people shave the seat down themselves. just take off the seat cover, shave it with something, and re-staple the seat cover back on. but don't try it if your in-experience, i dont think seats are that cheap.

anyone know a price on a new seat?

i used a hoppy hack saw to cut my grap holes..nad then some wet and dry to clean up the edges seemmm to work fine....

my bike is a 98 rm 125,,,,,,, it worked out i didnt even have to cut the side plates,,,,,,, except take 1 little tab off that used to clip in to air boxxx....

lol, thanks shifty, but seriously, ur my hero,, and yes , i am a master at cutting seats, its easy as ****, and fun, u just get staple gun, and murder weapon, (a big knife for chopp'n shit up with),, and take cover off, cut seat foam down, put cover back on and staple it, then hack up the side plates with the wrong end of a HAMMER, then go riding,,,

OR, if ur like me and lazy just cut the seat down and take the side plates off, because that is much kooler, thats why rhys dosent do it,,

a QUESTION hmm with unifilter bringing out the dirtbike range of filters why run airboxes?? i my self am cutting mine down to a total skeleton on the banshee meaning no lid , no bottom and no sides . Freind with bombadier removed entire airbox and just runs the uni on its own with no problems of dust or crap :) just a thought check out the unifilter range the come with main filter plus 2nd stage in the kits

did you lose any power on ur bike? like your top end or anything?

like any air mod u have to rejet bike no matter what ya change a simple change of air filter can require rejetting :) but u shouldnt lose power maybe a slight gain :)
