travis didn't pull the double backflip at x......as far as i know he's only ever done one into a foam pit
Bailey

I dont think he has done one on dirt yet. He was going for it at gravity games but knocked himnself out before he could try one.

i know, i meant of it into his foam pit or anything else on other people trying it. but they( x games peoples ) had a video clip of it. and i was wondering if anyone had it. or pictures of it. or heard rumors on other people trying it. ect. do you think he will wait till alot of people are around like a tv event to pull something like that? like a all or nothing type thing?
gravity games are in a couple days in ohio arent they??? ohio is in the US for you aussies. hahha

damnnn, thats so insane. i cant wait till i see it go onto dirt.
they've got the 360 down, the backflip/w combo's, what trick do you think will be next? i heard a rumor on a 720 flatspin?
(www.fisksmisk.com/travisdouble.wmv here is the link if anyone wanted to see it )
Bailey
13th September 2004, 10:31 AM
Yeah that is sic i dont rekon they will be doing 720's for a little while yet. Imagine them doing a front flip now that would be insane they would have to pull on the front brakes on when there at the top of the ramp or sumthin.
unhallowed
13th September 2004, 10:37 AM
hahah yea right i dont even think a front flip is possible it would go alittle somthing like this, " here goes travis... he's going for the ramp. what is he going to pull??!?! wait???? what!!! kids, he's slamed his front brakes and flew off the bike onto his face... oooh no. what the hell was he thinking?.."
how many spins around is a 720? is it two spins or something? what ever happened to the barrel roll from mad mike? do you think that is possible?
Bailey
13th September 2004, 10:47 AM
Yeah i think a barell roll is possible in the near future. I saw Mad Mike Jone's attempt and some how i dont think he was going for a barrel roll i think he just stuffed up a whip or sumthin and then said he was going for a barell roll just to make it look better. But it didnt do much good lol. I think a front flip could be possible but not off a 90 footeter or sumthin just off a ramp set at about 10 feet but i do think there will be a few broken bones beforet hat happens if someone was mad enough it would have to be Nate Adams or Travis Pastrana or maybe even Ligtning Rod lol. By the way 360+360=720 so yes that is 2 complete rotations.

13th September 2004, 10:50 AM
well in the video clip of the barrel roll that i saw. mike like jerked really hard and got the bike flat and maybe even alittle bit upsidedown. but im pretty positive it wasnt a whip, if it was he has horrible whips. twitch would be a good person to try the barrel roll. he has undoubtably the best turndown whips in the industry. and i didnt want to do the math. so i got someone else to do it
Bailey
13th September 2004, 10:53 AM
Yeah maybe but Nate Adams has got the rotation have you seen his 360's they are mad. And jeez you post your replys fast i was trying to reply to one of your messages and then i look and youve already got another reply there.
unhallowed
13th September 2004, 11:01 AM
yea. he has the best 3 out there. if you watch him from front ways. you see that he starts his rotation after he leaves the ramp. and everyone else does it before. but a 360 isnt like a barrel roll. haha thats because im super fast. areba areba undalay undalay.
( i dunno if you ever watched the little mouse guy cartoons as a kid. but thats what that was from )
Bailey
13th September 2004, 11:06 AM
Yeah but its still a rotation around in a 360 motion and i think Nates got the style and determination to do one. We'll just wait and see who pulls one off first then im betting for Nate we'll see we'll see i bet in the next year someone will pull it off but then again someone uniexpected might pull it off Chad Reed or someone lol.

13th September 2004, 11:11 AM
hahaha it does. thats crazy. but what would a gap for something like that be? 40 or so. and do you think that the body variel from chris will catch on in FMX events?
Bailey
13th September 2004, 11:17 AM
Yeah i would say so it scored high in competition. But i dont think many people will be doing it mainly just the usual pastrana adams ect ect. I rekon the might do a few combos with it to kepp your eyes peeled for Dayne 'Hoppa' Kinnaird.

13th September 2004, 11:36 AM
who do you think is the best rider out there today?
personally i think that pastrana and nate are. but i think that nate is alittle better because his style is so smooth and clean, nothing is wrong with any of his tricks. they are all extended and clean and held for a while. but my favorite rider of all time is still drake mcelroy

they could of at least vid the whole rotation instead of the half n half

i highly doubt that pastrana would be seen on the crusty tour. it doesnt seem like his cup of tea, ya know? that is all of the 'metal mulisha' scene. and he doesnt really seem like the metal mulisha sorta guy.
(by the way. when i said that if you knew where ohio is. i meant no disrespect i know you aussies are smart fellas. its just its hardly one of the important states. hahahah when people think of the US. they think california, new york, florida, texas, ect. who really cares about ohio. all it does is have cow's and shit. its kinda like the middle east, and the country azherbizjan or something. but who really gives a shit about the middle east anyways?? hhahaha)

Lol, yeah, we Aussie's have a lil saying "down under" that goes a lil something along the lines of "BumF#ck Idaho"...used in a sentence, it may sound a little something like "Man, i hate where we live, it's out bumf#ck Idaho" losely translated meaning, Whoop whoop, or middle of nowhere...so I cant speak for all Aussie's obviously, but i know when I hear the word Idaho, i instinctly think of out bush, middle of nowhere scenario's, which you've just confirmed :p
And yes, i would also like to agree that the Crusty Tour isn't really pastrana's style, but then again.....Nate Adams...?....The white knight himself, he's just as reputable and "non badass, ********" as pastrana and yet he graced Australian soil this year for the Crusty tour, so who knows....In the unlikely event Pastrana DOES join the tour for 05 or even just for one length of the tour for some world record, i can just see Deegan payin the piss out of him at every stop and at every chance he gets.
Also, while I'm here....even though it's being practiced into a foam pit, i STILL say it's unable to be nailed perfectly onto dirt as frequently as the stock flip is. (That in no way means i think it CANT be done) There's simple too much momentum and disorientation to even comprehend with 2 flips.
IF it is eventually landed, and rode away from, on dirt, the gap, ramp and downramp would have to be the exact same everywhere you do it so the physics dont change......In other words, in the event that it IS done on dirt, i can only see it being held as a world record, or as a "feature" in such shows as the crusty tour. constantly being done In competition i just cant see it happening...
but hey, that's just one crazy mans theory...TIME is the only truth holder in this lil equation. :smoker2:

woah, i didnt know that nate adams was on crusty tour?? but anyways im with you also on this one mungoman, the g force in one backflip alone would be hard to handle. but two would throw you off and you'd be dizzy and eat crap 19 out of 20 try's. BUTTTTTTT then again. 2 years ago people were saying that a backflip and 360 were IMPOSSIBLE and now look at it. so you never know.. right?
sik_50 - yea, i wasnt badmouthing aussies. it would be kinda stupid to make fun of aussie's on a site called fmx AUSTRALIA.com hahahahahh
and me and my friends say bumf**k idaho, or bumf**k egypt lol. but now im gonna start to say bumf**k downunder ;-)

i think if pastrana went supercross for a year. and really truly dedicated himself to it for one season that he would be a major runner in it. in supercross a year or two. he was the fastest thing out there. but carmicheal this year is utterly amazing. faster then ever. what do you guys think would happen??

since travis isnt in the gravity games this year ( i think ). when is the next possible time that he could pull the double back? because i know he is waiting for a huge event to do it. and it wouldnt be winter x unless he wants to die. so are we going to have to wait till the next x games to see it? because i dont know of any other huge event with fmx in it besides X, winter X, and gravity games...

I truly reckon that Brian Deegan the man himself will be the fisrt to land the double backflip or the barrel roll but i think that the 720 and front flip are a long way away.
Plus i dont really think the 360 that pastrana, nate adams or deegan do are really 360's because they are fully flat and it looks more like a barrel roll/backflip. I think if they really want to call it a 360 they should o it uprigt but theat is just my opinion.
But dont get me wrong the 360 still is an awsome trick
unhallowed
8th October 2004, 06:02 AM
well in my opinion, nate and travis's 360's are true 360's. brain deegan has his version but its still way scetchy, he has more of a backflip twist thing then anyone. dont get me wrong. deeg's is super good. but you would think that the person who first landed the trick would have it down the best. right?
sik_50
8th October 2004, 10:16 AM
yer i agree with unhallowed...deegan's 260's r sketchy and nate's and travis's r spot on.....travis dont ride wonter x so the double back wont be done there..he will be the 1st 2 land it though
ozzy_mulisha
9th October 2004, 09:59 AM
yer tru i totally agree. has anybody seen pastrana first attempt at the backflip back at i think the 2001 or 2000 X-games where he wrenched the bike so hard that he go to much spin came of the bike and broke his foot. But even whith a broken foot he still got up and was jumping around in joy that he had at least tried it.
