Cleveland, OH - Andrew's Cycles IFMA Freestyle Motocross Presented by XM Satellite Radio brought to you locally by Dodge returned to Cleveland bringing a new breed of talent. It was the now veterans of the sport, Drake McElroy, Nate Adams, Jesse Olson and Andy Jones that put on a show for the Cleveland crowd.
Friday night’s “Hot Seat” saw a face it hasn’t seen in a while, Drake McElroy’s. McElroy showed up in Cleveland and left his mark with a 93.6 run on the other riders as the one to beat. He was able to hold the hot seat from Andy Jones the #1 qualifier in Cleveland this weekend. “Drake looked so smooth and precise that when Andy Jones repeated a trick he knew he had taken Friday night’s victory,” said Lurch IFMA announcer. Rounding out third for Friday night with a respectable 93.0 was Jesse Olson.
Drake’s Saturday night run should have named him “The Janitor” because he swept the weekend with back-to-back wins. The crowd was out of control when the last two riders Drake and Nate Adams were up. Nate started out with a big rock solid to a no handed lander. As if that wasn’t enough he then threw a Mc Metz to no handed lander. Jesse Olson held his 92.8 run for a few riders but was tossed out of the hot seat by Nate’s 93.0. Drake closed the night by “sweeping” up a solid 93.3.
