If ya ask me...and no one has, "X Games" is gettin sloppy....a little TOO sloppy...last year i was appauled when i seen they allowed surfing in there...Surfing?....SURFING?....surfing has NO place within these walls!. ESPN/EXPN/FUEL SOMEONE needs to cover it completely and for free, i mean they allready call it "PAY"TV, why the HELL should we pay again, especially for 5min of footage...no matter what sport ya wanted to watch at X last year, if ya payed for it, you'd be just as pissed as i was, as all they showed was the final run from every sport, so out of a 2 1/2hour program all we got was Pastrana's final run and half of Kenny's i think it was. Meh That's me, spent,....Rant off HAHA.

With all that said, this years is gunna be OFF THE HOOK what with all the buzz around these new variations that are clouding the air towards it :D

Na, I'm saying "IF" we have to like last year, as no other channel covered it. If ya wanted to watch it, we needed to pay $16 or $25 if ya got in late for the "Pay-Per-View" channel.

I havent heard anything official about who's covering it this year, or if we'll need to pay if we wanna watch it on Austar or Optus or whatever payTV ya got.

Although i DID see an add for Septembers X Games on ESPN the other night with the step up comp. so who knows, they may have learnt from last years appualing effort and decided to go back to the working plan of airing it on normal channels as previous years.

Cross fingers and hope SOMEONE b!tchslapped those execs into line.

I agree .... in theory...in theory comunism works HAHA. but jokes aside, i do agree, in some circumstances, surfing CAN be extreme, but the shit i seen these find!cks paddelin' around in at last years X made my bathtub look good.

When ya compare it to other sports that top the chart in the X Games, such as FMX...ya got guys jumping 80-100ft on a dirtbike throwin down some insane tricks, and landing (99% of the time) without breakin a sweat, then ya got some bleached hair airhead floatin around standin on a board in the ocian, flickin' it left and right.....to me, that shit is just boring as hell, and i really have no idea how they manage to commentat on it with such enthusiasm.

If they HAD to put surfing in, atleast hold it in a decent location, as you said, where there's some element of danger, instead of off Callifornia bay or whereever the hell it was, where the worst ya got if ya fell off was a mouth full of salt water, a pat on the back from ya bumchum sayin "better luck nexttime bro, but that break was fully choice sick cuz aye bro"

If ya gunna call surfing extreme, the least they could do would actually make em do it in some extreme conditions,...the sort where weekend surfhead find!cks need not apply, ya know what i mean.

surfing onli extreme when the waves r massive the waves r usually like 1-2m high n they r surfing it u really need them at pipelines or sumthing cause riding waves that big on r surf is just stupid. and that pic u posted up Boost FMX the waves need to b that big or bigger its so boring watching the on small ones

well brad i m not sure if you have ever seen any of the footage from the original x games but in the first x games they had some really stupid and bogus event i m not sure it anyone has ever heard of an event called extreme shovel racing which basically consisted of guys sitting on the blade of a snow shovel them big suckers they use over there hands holding on to the handle and a leg either side then they try to slide themselves down the side of a semi snow covered hill now that was stupid i cant remember what else was there but they had a heap of other bogus events i m not sure there may have been extreme ironing unlikely but if they can race a shovel
After the first x games they started to get in to the sports you see today but i understand what brad is saying with events like surfing no offence to surfers out there but the swell that they surfed in for this event was far from extreme if they wish it to be a part of this event make it extreme take them to hawaii where if they crash they will be slammed into the reef thats extreme.
But on the other hand its is good in a way to see super moto in there to give the sport exposure because it is pretty cool but if they let that in you sort of have to ask where they will stop is next year gonna add motor cross and supercross and then maybe tag on nascar for good measure.
oh well as usual regardless of the other sports fmx is gonna go off this year cant wait to see that small bit of footage shown on espn even though a lil is a good more is even ****ing better

Yeah, as ya said, 1st years X....this is 2004 and it's X Games 10. (I think) Ya'd think with evolution and the amount of actual "extreme" sports out there these days, they wouldn't need to resort to such lame attempts of tryin to tell us that surfing (The type they actually do in X Games) is Extreme. I just feel, once again, as my partner in world domination, Stevey S has stated...."what do we know about TV ratings"....cause that's what it's going to, X Games is slowly selling out and doin whatever it takes to reel in more spectators.

anywho, personally, at this stage, I'm over the "X Games", in general, as a total program/event, i dont give a fat rats if they bring back the shovel racing, as long as they have decent coverage of the sport i actually expect to see...FMX....then alls good with me. :smoker2:

The only thing I've got against anyone is the executives that organise X Games for seriously droppin the ball and basically sellin out. But as i said, gimme decent coverage of FMX and they wont hear a peep from me :drink:
