Find out when he'll be back and what he's doing!

Many people have been wondering about Trevor. Back in the fall, at an IFMA competition in Portland, Ore., Trevor Vines injured himself during the Saturday morning practice. We caught up with Trevor recently at the San Francisco Supercross event, and have all the details on what he's been up to and when we can see him back on his bike.
"I was up in the air doing a 'Rock Solid' and I jumped off and got farther than I thought," Vines explained. He was taken to the hospital in Portland and suffered from a compound fracture in his femur, a dislocated shoulder, tore rotator cuff and labrium. Doctors in Portland actually put his leg back together, but it was 20 degrees off, so when he returned to San Diego, he went to the hospital again, and had it corrected. In addition, they couldn't work on his shoulder until his leg was better so he had to wait one whole month with a busted shoulder for his leg to heal.
"The first month off, I couldn't do anything. I went back home to Ohio for Christmas." Since then, he's been using his time off to do some physical therapy like stair master and stretching to keep him in shape. He still can't do any lifting, but says the few hours of therapy definitely help. Also, they got their new bikes from Yamaha and he's working on putting that together. He's been riding street bikes, spending time with his girlfriend, and just enjoying the time off as much as possible.
Where do think FMX is going? "With Clear Channel it's just going to get bigger and bigger. Four years ago it was six events in a year, now it's two different cities in one weekend." Vines mentioned that he still likes the feel of riding in arenas because it's more personal and he can make eye contact with fans. He also loves the fact that little kids love it so much and says all of the guys are very down to earth and easy to get in close contact with. "Unlike some other sports, you can get up and meet with them and have them sign autographs at every show," he said.
Discussing the sport, we started to talk about the backflip. He said, "It's the new big thing. More guys have stepped up, and it's probably here to stay. I don't want to see anyone get hurt so hopefully the guys doing it will have it all worked out before they try." He said that once he is healed, he will try to do it, and has actually done it on a bicycle already.
On his Charlie's Angels experience, Vines had nothing but good things to say. "It was awesome, very cool to be a part of that production." He said it was great to work with such a great group of people like Chris Tuck and Mick Rogers, and just to see how they do things. Although he said it got slow at times, he does hope it'll lead to something more. "I met the girls, and got paid well. Definitely, I'd do another. I don't know about full time, but I would take advantage of another opportunity like that if it came my way."
Seeing Vines at several different Supercross rounds provoked some questions about if he has any thoughts about racing. "I'm just here to watch, and the events are local. Fortunately, the timing was ok - yeah I'm missing some events but I can still catch up."
Today, Vines says he's doing real well. His shoulder is good, and he is hoping to be back possibly at the end of February. He also plans to be back on his bike in a few weeks to start practicing.
And finally, whom is he cheering for at SX? "Tim Ferry - Timmy Ferry is my favorite Supercross rider."
