and he has to move the dirt any way
it like when you get a hambuger and you ask for no tomato
and extra cheese and they just charge you more they dont take the cost away from the thingsd you dont want juts thats the price and if you want it your way it will be extra for the same amount ? this sucks:confused:

well, he is most likely going to charge your parents to remove the dirt from your property, the dirt from the foundations and get charged to dump it somewhere else, so tell him not to charge you for the dumping and do it for free. or a slab of beer.

to hire one you need a bocat licence $475 +350 for the hire
and you need one to hire one some insurence thing
and a dingo mini digger is to small for the job

This dude's double dippin you like a biatch... Get your olds to sort it out for you instead because they're the ones who contracted him and they can just tell him to dump the dirt wherever you want your downy instead of trucking it away. Then when he's done throw 50 bucks at him, maybe 100 to push it all up and shape it, won't take all that long probably.

the site manager will tell his boss so he cant do it for a slab it was my first thought he is chargin them 3500 to site cut and grade the area around the house and he was going to charge an extra $2500 to remove the excess dirt or to $1500spread it
so my old mand chose to spread it and i said could you mound some of it up for me and he wants an extra $500 in top of the spread costs
and my old man aint gona fork out $500 for a mound of dirt (his words)

If you got a full size ramp like a comp ramp that's not overkill at all. How big is your ramp? Just try and get them to not spread it at all, if you can that'll knock 1500 off it and you should be good then. It sounds like they are trying to scam you, earthmovers seem to do that a LOT, double dipping and overcharging and all sorts of stuff. Talk to your dad and work it out, you'll need his support to bargain with the guy properly and get a decent downy built. Just work out where you want it, and get your dad to ask them to just dump the dirt there, and not spread it. Then at the end of the job try and get someone to push it up.

the guy gave my old man a butshit story about why it costs so much coz he has to shape it and pack it with a steem roller.
roller thing you know what i mean to make sure all the dirt stays up the top of the ramp and it dosent wash away the first time it rains and it's goign to take two blokes a hole day to to and that was cheep yeah it is cheep for two blokes and a excavator, and a roller for the hole day but i dont think it needs that much attention
so my old man is going to speek to his boss today

Hell YES, they're full scamming you... I reckon you should keep the $1500 from the spread and hire your own bobcat for a day or two... then you can make whatever you like with the dirt..

Yeah still seems a bit pricey, steam roller HAHAHA what a goon that guy must be... Jeez it's just a downramp. Don't think he really knows what he's up against anyway if he had that for an idea, you'd never get a roller more than halfway up a proper downramp... To pack it all they have to do really is drive over it with the machine a bit and press it with the bucket and stuff. Should only need 1 bloke not 2, unless they're both hopeless or something... Print this off and hand it around, maybe make it slightly higher but not too much, say a foot... They should be able to follow it reasonably well.

whrn i got my driveway done they did my downy for free and when they fixed our septic they did it for free again but we sort of know them and it wasnt that big, but yeah thats a rip off but i would still take $400 because at least you'll have a downy better then no downy.
