dude thats a lil steep for it bein that old i bought my cr 250 for 1200.0 and it was an 01 an it had shit loads of parts put on it and is really nice....you should go down a bit

it's a bit expensive seeing as u can get an 01 for 4500. which is setup for frrestyle. depends on what you want to do really. i've riden it it goes really hard for a 250.

yea if ya look in the tradin post there goin 4 round 4000 3800 so yea i bought mi 98 cr 250 at the start of the year from a shop and it was 4000 so they havnt gone down in price since the start of the year :S
