I just finished doing pistion and ring on my YZ125 01' and the first time i kicked it over it sort of wanted to start. So I kicked it over again and nothing (like a fouled plug), so I pulled the plug out and it had coolant on it. The only conclusion I have come to is that its NOT good to have coolant on my plug. :help:  Just hoping that someone on here can help me with my situation, any help would be greatly appricated.
All fixed, wayne came around and helped me. I ended up changing the bottom cyclinder gasket and now its running sweet. I think my noughbours are getting pisssed with me for going up and down my street all day :D. Thanks everyone for your help and input.
Cheers

yeah chech the gaskets ( the thin rubber oval things, looks like over size rubber bands) chech if ya got the right size/thickness for your model bike and check if they are sittin right. Also u cant use the old ones u have to replace them.
I have 96 YZ125 and i have 2 gaskets, i donno if the 01's are the same but i have 1 bigger one on the out side, then the coolent holes, then a smaller one. If ure not getting any coolent leaking out of ya barrel the outer one is ok and working but if ya getting coolent on the inside its obvesly the inside gasket.
hope this helps...

well you have a big problem first thing i would be checking is you head gasket if is leaking the coolant go across and the other thing that can happen is it will pressurise your radiator forcing water back through the seal of your water pump and turn all you sump oil into shampoo and trust me that suck ass
check over the head gasket first and see how you go from there i would be at an end to see how else you have got the coolant in there with it having gonna through the bottom end but if that were to happen it would be come shampoo like as i mention before as it mixs with the oil other than the head gasket call the bike doctor (local bike mechanic) and ask them

Thanks everyone for your help. I didnt change the gasket, because I thought the old one looked fine. Didnt realise you had to change them. Its my first proper bike and id rather do-it-myself, rather than paying someone, its not that im a tightarse its just that i go on the saying "BUILT, NOT BROUGHT". Just one more problem I really dont need. Will any damage be done if I just leave my bike sitting there for acouple of weeks, cause im over it?

just to let everyone know, might help in answering his problems, he didnt undo the head gasket bolts, only the lower cylinder bolts, therefore it should not be a head gasket leaking.
all i could thing of when u called me isuzutuff is that maybe you spilt some coolant into the carby accidently and its jsut coming back out into the moter.
try kick it over lots without the sparkplug to clean the cylinder then put the plug in and start it.
let it run, if it iwll then check too see if you have any coolant leaking.
if that work, we will just have to keep checking you coolant level when we go for a ride, and make sure it aint using any more coolant or presurising the radiators.
anyone else know how it can get in there?

haha thats the good thing about not living with my parents.
but i only bring the bike inside if its really clean.
its not his water pump seal, because the coolant is gettin into the sparkplug.
so its almost got me stumped.
all i want is his bike to be working so we can go riding.
*hint hint i need a lift this weekend*
