Are you posing or actually trying fmx? If you are actually trying fmx, you do not need to cut your airbox, until you are ready, and confident enough to go for the superman seat grab.
If you are posing, cut your seat, plastics, and airbox. No one knows how you have to change your jetting. There are many factors that come into it. Like.. What bike you have, what engine mods have you got, and have you changed the jetting before, how big are the grab holes going to be, do you run an aftermarket airfilter... etc.
So really, you have to cut it down, then do a spark plug test, or just ride it around. If it affects it heaps, and your bike runs like crap, you would want to re-jet the bike.
Take the time to read and understand this:

Yeah Greg Stranges jetting guide is the best I've seen so far. Like Robbo said there are a number of factors that come into it so there is no blanket answer to the question...
The big thing to remember here is not to lean it out too far or it could get really expensive..

You need 1-1/8 inch adapters. (11/8 inch).
Go into your local shop and ask for that.
"1-1/8th inch handle bar adapters".
they range from $50 to $180.

I'm pretty sure KX are the same?
I would get the adapters, because they set up your bars higher:)
