just get it to tdc (top dead center) and kick as hard as you can, as you can see in this video he goes down a few times before kicking it to find TDC ‪YZ426 cold start‬‏ - YouTube hope this helped mate

I used to pull the decomp in just a little bit and kick the bike only a little(one turn) for a few times then give it a full kick and it turned over every time

I borrowed a 426 recently and found the best method to be:
Push kickstart through to 'hard spot' (top dead centre), pull in decomp and push kickstart just past TDC, Kick the life out of it! Started first or second kick everytime.. Hope that helps...

if your just having problems due to not being able to kick hard enough, (i had the same problem when i was a bit younger with an very early 250f) lean the bike against a wall or a tree or get your dad to hold the rear of the bike, this way you can stand right up, take your time, find TDC go just past it and kick as you sort of drop to the seat, that way your wieght will help out. also as you get used to be bike, you will find out what it like to start, a little gas, a lot of gas, choke, no choke, or even hot start!
anyway youll get the hang of it, and in the mean time if worst comes to worst you've still got the ol' roll start
