An all time record crowd of over 20,000 people flocked to the Central Coast Express Advocate Stadium last night for round one of the 2003 Supercross Masters dirt bike series.
All the factory teams were on site with their mighty transporters and all-new rider line-ups. The riders ripped into the mammoth track with Honda taking out first and second in the 250cc final round with Shane Metcalfe first, followed closely by Troy Dorron. KTM took out third with team rider Jay Marmot.
The 125cc final round was Troy Carroll's for the taking. The Boost Mobile CDR Yamaha team rider lead the entire race showing why he is ranked number one in the 125cc class. His brother Quentin Carroll from the KTM team crossed the line second, while Suzuki's new factory team rider Mitchell Hoad took out third place.
The Airtime Expression Session added airborne artistry to the night with Luke Urek and the Cole Brothers gearing up the crowd as they went big with bar hops, heart attack look backs and superman seat grabs.
Australian Supercross has never been presented in such comfortable and visually-appealing surrounds. Skirting the water front with its own avenue of palms, the Gosford venue was favoured by all, and will see this dirt bike extravaganza return for another round of action!
