Beau Bamburg and Adam Jones continue to develop a rivalry at the Pepsi Center

DENVER, Colo. (January 25, 2003) – Beau Bamburg and Adam Jones continue to take every IFMA competition to the wire. A rivalry develops as two of the top freestyle motocross young guns fight every weekend for freestyle motocross supremacy.

In 2002, the Pepsi Center saw Adam Jones go down with a compound fracture in his leg, only to see him come back and win Friday night’s competition. With a little help from bike malfunctions, Jones was able to stay in the hot seat and beat out Beau Bamburg. Casing a jump with only 11 seconds left in Bamburg’s final run, caused major malfunctions with the CR 250 and enabled Bamburg to finish his run. Scoring a 90.9 in the final was not enough for Bamburg to beat Jones and his score of a 91.6. Denver natives, Darin Connet and Chris Denison did not disappoint their hometown crowd both showing impressive final runs. Denison finished in fourth while Connet took seventh.

Nate Adams failed to make the main event on Friday night, but came back strong to take the victory Saturday. Adam Jones again put together a strong run, but did not have enough to de-thrown Adams. Andy Jones was the nights number one qualifier going into the finals followed by Darin Connet. Adams watched Andy Jones put together a near flawless run but mistakes caused Jones the victory. Nate Adams held on to the hot seat with a score of 92.6. Andy Jones finished in third followed by Connet in fourth.
