Friday Night Recap
The name Matt Buyten will forever be in the record books as the winner of the first night of competition in Little Rock. The fact that Matt won is amazing considering he was the second person out in the finals. He didn’t make mistakes which was the secret to his success. Dustin Miller went down after pulling off a base jump. Jake Windham blew a trick so he wasn’t in contention. It seemed to be the longest final round of Matt’s life. The track gave some of the riders with the cold clay starting to sweat causing a greasy surface that some of the riders couldn’t adjust to. Tommy Clowers seemed to be the man on pace to knock Matt off until on his last trick. He said “ I thought I was going to come up short and then I realized I wasn’t and pulled the trick off the best I could.” Jeff Tilton missed qualifying by one spot and looks to be back after the broken collarbone in Europe. The hat goes off to Matt for proving he can be a contender in the 2003 season.
The clock goes tick tock so off to see Little Rock!
Saturday Recap
Dustin Miller has a habit one is winning and the other is giving his trophy away to one lucky fan. Matt Buyten was way off of what he was last night taking his first ever IFMA win and then not being able to make the final. Jeff Tilton was a pleasant surprise making it into the final showing so many uses for the whip. Derick Burlew was getting tired sitting in the hot seat after quite a few riders. He did say” I am really starting to get nervous thinking I may have my first win.” The crowd of over 9,000 were on hand to see the freestyle action. Tommy Clowers made the final in the first round but went down in the final when his foot hit the seat trying to get back on the motorcycle. He seemed fine and was in good spirits despite going down. I will see you in Denver if your there and if not you can check the action on OLN.
