how do u tell if someone needs new bars?
Mungoman45
19th June 2004, 09:58 PM
lol technically he doesn't "need" them, but stocko bars are shit and bend the second ya look at em the wrong way lol. Bars are usually the 1st thing people change on their bike when they get one. Unless it's a second hand one and comes with swish ones like tAG or Pro Tapers. I kept my stocko ones untill i "NEEDED" new bars, which is pretty much the 1st time ya crash or drop it or something. Stocko's arn't worth bending back, cause they're weak to start with let alone doin that to em. So i told myself until i "NEEDEd" new bars I'd keep stocko's, cause decent bars are a few hundred...and well, yeah, 1st crash...absolutly no scratches, anywhere, but the stock bars just cant handle the impact like aftermarket ones.

heh heh, yeh those bars are pretty bad, i had a go on me mates 02 yz125 and they feel so shocking, like really low, but yeh i guess you can do what mungo did and use em till they bend if you feel comfortable with em , i just know after tearin round on my bike all day and i got on his it felt like i was riding a go kart, other than that it looks heaps good.

Her names Tess :) and yeah, stock bars didn't bother me all that much, as i hadn't used anything else for years, due to not having a bike, so i just got back into the swing of things with those, until i crashed and then splashed out. Tags deffinatly felt a shitload better, especially for my height with the adaptors on makin em an inch or so higher again.

Fmx King- The problem with buying crossbarless or any bars with a thicker middle to make then stronger is that you have to but the adaptor thing (because they are wider) if i dont make any sense here.... This is the whole package you'll need..
Bars-$179
Clamps-$84.95
Grips(optional)-$16.95
Barpad (looks good)-$32.95
Site for browsing- http://www.bikebiz.com.au/shop/enter.html
Hope this helps mate. BTW these bars that dont have a crossbar help with over-the-bars tricks because you dont get caught up.
If you arent that good just get these
Bars-$109.95
Clamps-$not needed
Grips(optional)-$16.95
Barpad (looks good)-$22.95
First bars will be pic one and second bars will be pic two.

The are the renthal bars which have a crossbrace. These and all like them will be cheaper to buy and to buy parts for. You can use any grips with any of these bars. These are the bars i have on my KX85 except in a higher bend whis simply means that the gap between the bottom of the bars and the crossbrace is bigger.
Hope this has helped. And all of these bars are available in more than one colour. Barpads are also available in different colous and meatllic.
