Ok, this is my 4th attempt at making a ramp. I’m trying to make a ramp that is strong, cheap and good to use.
To cut back on costs I have given up on buying curve steel and trying this approach with 100 X 50mm steel.
It’s a little hard to explain but each blue section is 1.9m long. If I add a cross beam at the top of each joint of the blue beams and another cross beam at the bottom of each section of blue beam in between the joints I will have a 9 metre constant radius.
It looks as if it won’t work but I have tested it with a piece of 9m line.
I will not be able to lay the ply on the outside like other ramps so I will only make 900mm wide.
Hopefully I can get some more steel in the next few weeks and get it finished.

edit: it's 2.28m X 5.94m

yeah, *selling* them i think is what ya meant bro, would be a good idea, if ya constantly making them, after all, how many ramps does 1 person need. I'd only be selling the last attempt "solid" ones ya come up with. I know when i made mine, i made it out of "offcuts" of steal from my local steal joint, and even though it was rather small (only 2mtrs long X 1.2mtrs high) it cost me around $300 including everything from the main steel to paint and bolts. So i know how expensive constantly attempting ramps can be. But if ya get that curve in that one smooth, it looks like it'll be rather solid to me, I think you've got a winner on ya hands. :)

if you wanna bend your transition but can't afford it heres how i was told by freestyle industries in america to do it :
use thinner, and smaller tubed steel for the actual curve .... now setup the vertical (or diagonal) at the heights that you want the curve to pass through ... then tack the top of the piece that is to be curved to the top vertical support... once youve done that get your mates.. or something really heavy and hang off the curve piece, pulling it down onto the vertical supports, the curve is then made to the vertical suports... just tack it up while its held in place ... or ya could clamp it if your friends are worried bout being burnt ... then go back and weld it up properly .....
freestyle industries told me to use 1inch by 1 inch tubing that is .065 thick .... ohhh and you'll need long biuts to bend it probly...
