View Full Version : JP Update & Please stop posting rumours
Insane
8th June 2004, 12:42 PM
Please stop the rumours about JP, I am sick of reading he has already died. Jono is still alive and fighting hard for his life. He is still in a induced coma and on life support. Things aren't looking good however and as someone else has said, we need a miracle for JP... We all need to prey for him, whether religous or not.
I'm not really in the mood for posting threads, I've been on the phone and crying for the last 24hrs but I just don't know what else to do with myself. I will post any info as it comes to hand but please stop posting things like "My mates mates rang me and told me Jono is dead". Being a close friend of Jono's, I find threads like that highly disrespectful and just not right. I am in close contact with people with Jono and as I said Jono is still fighting hard, as of my last phone calls earlier today..
Any other information released by his family will be posted on the Mr Motocross website and Im not going to post anything they don't want posted or haven't released themselves. By all means, post your well wishes and stuff but please refrain from posting rumours.
I am to upset too say more anyway but Jono you're racing the race of your life mate, be strong and give your normal 100% and God willing you will pull through this.. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Bec, Penny and your family.
The Mr Motocross series website has setup a area where you can pass on your best wishes to Jono and his family.
Or messages of support can also be emailed directly to: jpsupport@jonoporter.com.au and we will pass them on.
Please click the following link to goto the Mr Motocross website http://www.ozmotox.com/mrmx/index.cfm and post a message of support.
All messages are being passed directly to JP's family.

Insane i'm with u man i wish jono the quickest and best recovery possible but you say that he is in a induced coma. does that mean that he is (i hate to say it) brain dead? and what would happen if they turned off the life support. i know its hard to talk about it but i really wanna know if jono has any chance of pulling through???????

People are put into induced comas for heaps of different reasons. Usually it is to keep the patient from moving so they dont further injure themselves and also so they can use 100% of their energy fighting whatever has put them in hospital. It doesnt mean that someone is brain dead.
The brain is a very funny thing and no one really knows its full capabilities. I have seen first hand, where life support has been switched off and the patient has surprised everyone including the doctors and lived. Im not saying that this is in anyway, the same as JP's situation, but everyone should still keep believing, miracles do happen.

Contrary to my previous beliefs i found alot of info from google search jono Porter........ A sickening first corner pile-up occurred in the opening Pro Lite moto and when the dust settled it was Jono Porter who lay motionless on the ground.
Track marshals were on the scene within seconds with Paramedics only metres away. While Porter was still on the track he was completely off the racing line and in the best of hands as the medical crew set about to stabilize the unconscious rider.
The race was abandoned to allow an ambulance onto the track in a desperate need to escort Porter as safely as possible. Within minutes an Air Ambulance was dispatched but it was determined not in the best interests to move Porter once more, such was the delicate nature of his injuries.
To date all that is known of his injuries is that he has sustained major trauma to his back and neck. Surgery has stabilized him but he still remains in a critical condition.
