I wanna know, has anyone ever tried to modify or use if you dont need to modify, a pod filter, or any other type of filter for their dirtbike, because fast 50s and that use those little pod filter lookin things, and if you had a car filter on your bike it would be easier to clean and also shouldnt get as dirty because theyre not sticky.

screw using anything but a motey air filter desinged for your bike lol man you put oil on em to make em sticky so the shit sticks to the filter and doesnt go into your carby.

They do use foam pods in cars, Think hks or rush. Foam pods flow way better and outperform paper in dusty conditions they just need alot more maint, a paper filter would clog in a heartbeat. The paper filters cant really be cleaned properly once there dirty aswell. i dont think they would be any good on a dirtbike at all. And when performance counts to your car i would be dichin the paper aswell
Just my 2 cents. also fast fifttys are all for show, and my thinkin is thats why theyve opted for the little paper thing

a few people have already tried it, and still do, but it shits up your bike after a while.

from what i know, the podstyle with no air box (the first 2), dont work that great.

but someone you can ask about that is Rick Distler (Slider off the mtx forums). go to www.fmxramps.com and email him and ask him about them.:)

i cant see any problem with taking out the standard intake and replacing it with a normal 3" pipe hose clamped to the end of the carby and then rumming up to the standard air box with a pod filter clamped to the other end on the pipe

they are form and you do oil them i used to clean my skyline air filter with K&N cleaner and oil it the same proses has cleaning my bike filter even use the same oil the other day its te same shit
