Bloody football. That's all I got to say about that pretty much. 5 years is a dodgy figure, the docs just don't want you riding again I would say because you're still growing they wanna wait till you stop probably, then take the rod out or somethin and you'll be ok to go. Perhaps go see a different one if ya can and ask about what else you can do. Or just wait till you can walk good again and ride with the rod... Risky if you're doin big jumps though.

Mate, I'd like to know exactly how u shattered your legs in footy? musta been a hell of a hit!
(and which bone? Tibia or Fibula? you kinda had a mixture of both in Tibula :p)
Anyway hope your feeling better and pain killers are helping you out :afro:

HOLY SHIT. 5 ****ing years. i think ur doc is a bit dodgy. no way it could trake five years to heal. look at brian deegans crash he just had. he totally ****ed himself up and he is back on a bike im pretty sure now after like 120 days.

There is no way you have to wait for five years... Get another opion..

Remember he's a young fella guys... More than likely the doc doesn't want him riding and stressing the bone because it's still growing and it's going to take longer to heal because of that. My brother snapped his pelvis when he was 12 or something and it didn't heal properly for years, if it even is now. He hasn't been able to run since because he was growing too fast for the bone to heal properly. However he could somehow ride and jump painfree so go figure, weird shiz but the doc said if he could do it then go for it. But yeah get a 2nd opinion but they will probably tell you the same. Just get walking on it first, then try jumping on it painfree before ya get back on a bike I'd say.
