just cut it with a grinder. and drill holes for the rivets. i wouldnt bother but. its not gunna make much difference. if u want to make better proformance. go out and buy a fmf shorty or sumthin along them lines. if u got like 400 spare lol

If its an aluminum muffler I wouldn't touch it with a grinder. Aluminum melts when you cut it with a grinder and it leaves a dodgy cut. If you are serious about cutting it back use a cold saw or a hack saw and just use a drill for the rivets. I will be cutting my muffler back soon and I plan on using either a cold saw from work or a hack saw at home.

cool yeah i was thinking that would be better than a grinder, would get it straighter cut with a hacksaw. You guys thinkin of 2 strokes cause mine is a 4 is it ok for 4 strokes?

lol dude why the hell would you want to cut your muffler!!!, the best bet get a aftermarket one but even then i wouldn cut a stock muffler it wont realli make it faster just louder but then again its your bike if i was to do it prolly just a hacksaw or some neat grinding

Im not to sure what the go is with 4 strokes and cutting the muffler down. I don't think it would help to much.
However, I do know that the stock 2007 YZ 125 muffler is the best you can get for it as it is the widest in the guts compared to the aftermarket ones. So if you slap an after market muffler on its really a down grade. So the best muffler performance mod you can do on a 2007 YZ 125 is cut the stock muffler down by about 75mm and remove the restricter that is in the end of the stock muffler.

usually people only cut 4 banga mufflers if they are too long. Yzf mufflers are reallllllllly long and look pretty ugly so thats why people cut em down
