The Coffin and Lazyboy are tricks that have been around for years and I think Mad Mike was the one who invented the Coffin originally, if he wasnt he used to do them the best! The Lazyboy is just an extension of the Coffin, but is done a little differently.

The Coffin and Lazyboy will be explained in 2 different sections and I will guide you through both :) For both of these tricks, make sure you are comfortable with looking at the sky and not the downramp!!! Just jump and look around and get the feeling of not watching where you are going before attempting this trick.

Coffin

1. When you approach the ramp, keep the bike going up the centre of the ramp, and make sure your body is leaning forward more-so than usual. This will help you with confidence when you lean back into a Coffin and the back of the bike will at least stay level or come up a little higher, this is good :)

2. As you leave the ramp, push your body forward a little to make the front of the bike dip a little bit, then firstly you want to raise your legs up to the handlebars, make sure to keep your legs straight the entire time. At this exact same time, you need to start flattening your back and starting to look back with your head

3. When you legs are coming up parallel with the bike, you want to pull yourself up as far to the front of the bike as possible. Bend your arms up and drag yourself up the seat, lol, Aim to have your balls almost sitting on the petrol cap HAHA, and for the lady's errr well, you know what I mean ;) This is a big part of the trick, as gettin your entire body as far forward as possible means you will keep a good centre of gravity over the bike.

4. Now that your body is as far forward, you now want to straight your arms back out and look straight up to the sky, or even better yet, try to look backwards. This is going to help your back straighten out. You want to arch your back to make sure your body gets out flat.

5. You should now be almost touching the seat with your back, now just have to straighten your back out flat and this is the perfect Coffin, head resting on the seat, being able to feel your back all the way along the seat (unless you have a shaved seat) and your legs perfectly straight. Your arms should also be perfectly straight at this stage also (unless you have monkey-like arms)

6. Now to get back up for landing, you simlpy need to pull hard on your arms, this will bring your body back up and make sure you look straight and hard for the landing as you may feel a little disorientated during the trick. Your feet will automatically come back down to the footpegs for landing.
Sometime the bike might tend to get front high during this trick, so the best thing to do is Tap the Brakes and this will bring the front of the bike down for landing

And there you have it, your very first Coffin, Good Luck :afro:

Pic - Not the best quality, but you can see my back is flat on the seat of the bike, I'm looking straight up and my legs and arms are fully straight. You can notice also that I've kept the front of the bike down a fraction, as this gives you more confidence to lay back and not think you're going to fall off the back of the bike

You want to extend the Coffin you say? Sure... Why not, all you need to do now is let go of the handlebars and swing them right back above your head and aim for the back fender... HA! ..How hard can it be?

Well, this is quite a difficult trick to do, you have to have real confidence in what you are doing and be able to have full control over the bike in the air. You need to dip the front of the bike harder to do a Lazyboy because you won't have the added luxury of holding onto the handlebars incase something does go wrong.

Now you want to do the first couple of steps the same as the coffin, bring feet up straight, pulling yourself up close to the petrol cap to centre your body over the bike. And this is where this guide will start.

1. As you both legs are straight and up to tank with body, you now want to lean your body back quite quickly, and for first-timers, you will probably feel more confident getting in the Coffin position before actually taking your hands off, this is fine. Lay back straight, head facing up and just let your hands off a little bit and grab back on. Do this over and over til you feel comfortable.

2. Now that you're used to taking hands off while in Coffin position, when you have your legs up straight, body forward on tank, you want to lean back hard, point your head back and then take your hands off while your in the process of leaning back! This is what gives style to the Lazyboy. As you're leaning back, stretch your arms up over your head and try grab onto the back fender. If you can feel the fender you know you've just nailed the Lazyboy!.

3. When doing this, make sure the front of the bike has dipped and you legs are locked in under the handlebars!! This will be the confidence builder when you can feel your legs under the bars, it will give your body stability.

4. When you want to land, simply pull hard on your legs, hit the handlebars and that will give you leverage to crunch your body up to grab back up into a sitting position. You can now grab the handlebars and then get your legs back down to the pegs for landing.

It takes alot of confidence to do the Lazyboy, but the keypoints to remember are :
- Front of bike must be lower than the back
- Centre your body over the bike by pulling yourself up to the tank
- Lock your legs under the handlebars
- Feel the "Slap" of your back and head on the seat
- Feel for the back fender with your hands

That should help you out alot and Good Luck :afro:

Pic (Mike Jones, pic by Steve Densmore) - Notice how the front of Made Mikes bike is dipped down hard, he's looking straight up with his head and his legs are locked in under the handlebars - If you can do a lazyboy like this, you are sitting VERY pretty!
