Can anyone let me know exactly what tools you need to cut the front & rear gaurds on an 01 RM250 and how to go about it

Nikko Pen to mark out where you want to cut
Tin Snips to cut out a guideline of the mark on the fender (don't cut too close to the mark though)
Belt Sander to wear down your plastic to the mark exactly
File to take off the melted furry bits of plastic
Fine Sandpaper to get it silky smoothe

I'm almost the same as Steve:
* I use a marking crayon to mark the plastics 1st (It's easier to get off than niko ;))
* I used a hacksaw to roughly cut around close to the marked line.
* Belt sander to get a nice curve to the line you maked
* I used an orbital sander to shave the plastic burs off and get it a smoother edge
* and then just sandpaper in different stages to get it to a perfect smooth edge.
Before i did any of that, notice i said i used a crayon to mark the plastics instead of a niko cause it's easier to get off?. The reason for that is, i made my initial cut marks on my plastics, took a side on shot of it with the digital camera, and edited the pic along the cutting lines in photoshop, and if the curve didn't look how i wanted, I could wipe the cut marks off the plastics and remark em. Took me 4 tries to get the cut exactly how i wanted it, THEN i went and went through the stages above. So i recommend, if you have Photoshop or some sort of editing software, and a digi to do that, even if ya shit at editing, it'll give you a projected view of how the short fender will look...if it'll be too short, or not the right curve ya want and so on. :)
