If you read the FreeriderMX's Tricktionary, you'd see the Suran to Suran wrap, in which they say: "A very technical trick, both Clifford and Travis still do this trick in major competitions today for its Sheer Technicality"
Now this doesn't mean novice's can't do this trick!!! The Single Suran Wrap is one of the oldest tricks out there. The Double, or Suran to Suran wrap, is simply putting one foot through the bars, let go, leg around, then the other foot through the bars, let go leg around and land. So this means it isn't all that hard if you keep the opposite foot on the footpeg and then the other foot on the footpeg going to the reverse suran wrap with other leg. It gets more difficult when you keep your body up off the bike and feet not on the pegs at all, and this is what FRMX is referring too.
To do this trick, you will need to have the ability to do a Single Suran wrap, and be comfortable with it, on both legs. If you can do it on the left side, but not the right as well, you will find yourself in big problems and paniccing to get back on the bike. I'll tell you how to do a Suran wrap in this thread, and then how to link it to the second suran wrap :read:
Single Suran Wrap (Make sure you can do this!!) -
This is a basic trick, and most people do this on their left foot first to get used to it. So I will explain using left foot first.
When you approach the ramp, keep yourself in the ready position, but try to have your arms a little straighter than normal. This will keep enough room in between your body and the handlebars for when you want to do the trick.
Now when you leave the ramp, you want to keep your body virtually in the exact same position all through the jump, all you have to do is just stand up tall with your right foot and concentrate yourself on looking forward.
Begin to take your left foot off, whilst straightening your arms out. Raise your left knee up towards your chest, and pointing your toes up. Aim your foot to pass through and over the centre of the handlebars. Make sure you can get the heal of your foot up high enough to do this. If you can't, make sure your standing as high on the right foot as you can, and have your arms stretched out to give you as much room as you can get. If you still can't get this... you might need to stretch your Hamstrings before you ride :)
Once you get your foot in the middle, you will need to push your body to the left side a little, push your hips to the left, and then push your left leg out to the side, and when you get your leg close to your left hand, simply take your hand off, let your leg pass over the edge of the bars and grab back on with your hand.
Then you simply bring your leg back down for a landing.
Now when you have mastered this on the Left foot... Do exactly the same only for the Right foot.
Suran to Suran Wrap (Or Double Suran Wrap)
For this trick, you will probably need about 50 to 60 foot at least of air-time to get both suran wraps in.
Just the same as the single Suran, approach the ramp, arms straightened a little, and leave the ramp, standing tall, straighten your arms and begin the trick as soon as the ramp disappears from under you.
Go with either foot you want first, generally people stick to left foot first, so that's how I'll explain it. Do the first Suran wrap and bring your foot down to the footpeg. Now for beginners, it's best to make sure you have your foot placed firmly on the footpeg. Hopefully by the time you've done this first Suran wrap, you aren't yet at peak of the jump yet. If this is where you are at with the jump, then you have enough time to begin doing the second Suran wrap! (If you feel you are at the top of the jump and about to come back down for landing, then I suggest you don't attempt the second Suran Wrap and simply land.)
Now when you get your foot back down to the Peg, you can go straight into the Suran wrap on the other foot. Simply do what I've explained above and this should be no problem at all.
Extension Tip #1 -
To make this trick look better, and is alot more difficult to do, what you can try to do is when you do the first Suran wrap, bring your other foot off the pegs, so your holding yourself up in the air only by your arms. When you bring your leg over the bars and let go, and grab back on, then you can bring your right foot straight up and do the Suran wrap on that foot even quicker.
This looks better and is harder when you're holding yourself up with your arms. Good Luck!
