The Disco Can is simply a one handed, no footed can, with the hand opposite your feet taken off.
This means if you want to perform this trick, you will need to have the ability to do a normal Double Can and be comfortable doing them. If you haven't done a Double Can you can go here to find out how to go about them: http://www.fmxaustralia.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3312

With the Disco can, you have to make sure you feel comfortable with taking your hands off the bars, and also you need a little bit of cooridination also to take off the opposite hand to where you are doing a double can. Kinda like like patting your head while rubbing your belly... or is that the other way around? haha, i don't know.

When you approach the ramp, you need to have it figured out in your head first, what you're going to do, whether you throw your feet to the left side and take off your right hand, or vice versa. Make sure you know which one your going to do, or you might get stuck mid-air and panic.

Hit the ramp as per normal, bring your feet up together towards your chest and then throw them out to one side just like a normal Double Can. Then when you feel like your in a good position during the Double Can, and you feel as if the bike is level and your still a fair way up in the jump, you can begin to let go with the opposite hand. Don't go for full extensions straight away, just take little steps at a time and take a few attempts before you start throwing your hand off in a big way.

Make sure you have a good hold of the bike with your other hand. You don't want to be letting go with both hands unexpectedly.

When you want to land, pull hard on your hand that's on the bike, grab back on as soon as you can with the opposite hand, and then simply direct your feet back to the footpeg just like a normal Double Can.

Good Luck

Pic - This picture is a little mis-timed, but it shows me keeping my body relatively straight, whilst doing the double can, and then letting go. It's best to keep your arm straight out and above the handle bars when your beginning so it's easier to bring your hand back down to grab on and land.

Here's a video of a Disco Can. Not the biggest Disco Can, but still you can see when I extend my legs out to the left, and take off the opposite hand and throw it in the air, and when I get back on the bike for landing.
