View Full Version : Dont get caught doing burnouts!

Over 2 years ago I got caught being a idiot on my road bike (unregistered race bike) at a xmas party, I was doing some nice big mono's and burnouts ect, when it seemed like half the police force decided to rock up... doh!

As well as closing the road for 3-4 hours whilst they photographed and measured the "damage", the cops even had a aeroplane fly over and take photo's of the "damage" for use as evidence....

Well after all this time, I got pulled over riding tonight and ended up getting arrested on a warrant over this, because the slack copper reckons he couldn't find me to serve a summons... Funny how I lived at the same address for 5 years and heard nothing.... Lazy prick... Anyway they hit me with 10+ charges and a $6000 bill to clean the road

Anyway here is the charges they've hit me with:

1.Reckless Conduct Endangering Life - Recklessly engage in conduct namely in the manner and speed that he rode a motorcyclye that may have placed persons in danger of death

2. Fail to keep left - Drive on a road and fail to keep left of center of the two-way road without dividing line

3. Drive Unroadworthy vehicle - Drive a vehicle on a highway that was not a safe a roadworthy condition.

4. Drive a vehicle in a manner as to cause unecessary smoke.

5. Drive Unregistered vehicle

6. Drive a motorvehicle in a manner dangerous - Drive in a manner that was dangerous to the public.

7. Speeding - 130km/h in a 60 zone (Thats their guess from the vid)

8. Reckless conduct endangering serious injury - Recklessly engage in conduct namely in the manner and speed that he rode a motorcyclye that may have placed persons in danger of serious injury

9. Criminal damage - $6,720 worth of damage to the road they reckon.

10. Intentionly damage property without lawful excuse

What a load of dog do, what you think they where out to get me? Even the policeman who arrested me tonight said and I quote "Geez, you got the short end of the stick over some measly burnouts. Those TMU (traffic management unit) guys don't think like the rest of us sometimes." and they where quite nice about it all, asked about how I can afford the tyres, how long I been riding ect and then gave me a lift back to my bike as they felt sorry for me... All in all, its going to be expensive so don't do burnouts kiddies !

BTW, because it happened so long ago I figured they had given up on me, I now blame AusFMX! I told him this story today and was saying how I reckon I got away with it... 2 hours later I'm in the police lockup... double doh!

The so called damage: (I might try call it art in court )

Fark, so much for a happy new year :(
As my brother is a detective I can't get into the coppers too much but it does sound a bit heavy handed.
$6K is probably just a start, add another 5K in fines, loss of licence, court costs etc and it becomes an expensive exercise seeing in the new century.
Oh well, time to add a for sale section to the forum.

ask to see the radar gun of how quick you were going. if you ask for it, they have to show you. some cops delete it, then pull you over, and people ask if they can see it, and they cant book them without evidence.

Was over and done with a while ago... I rocked up in court with my video tape of the police egging me on while doing alot worse through a small gap in 50.000 people at the GP one year... I also had a letter from a police inspector saying what a good rider I was and that I was unoffical crowd control at the GP... lol ;)

They decided not show the video they confiscted of the above offences if i agreed not to show mine.. ;) They then dropped all charge except drive unregisted and make excessive noise and smoke.. I ended up with a $1000 fine and 6 months licence loss to be served at the same time I had already lost it for demit points ;) So in other words no real licence loss...

I also got the video back and showed it to the boys at the pro am.. Most where impressed with the 463 metre burnout :D I will capture it one day and put it online...
