Hey all,
Sorry bout the site being down so long, but there was a high voltage short / explosion at the Hosting companies data centre where the FmxAustralia server lives.

The explosion did a fair bit of damage taking out 4 walls, all power to the data centre and damaging the all important DNS (internet domain name servers) servers aswell.

Firefighters also wouldn't allow the UPS backup battery system or the backup generators to be fired up due to safety concerns. Temp mobile generators where connected up a couple days ago. However there was thousand upon thousands of servers out and it takes time to get them all going..

Temp power was restored to our server yesterday morning (aus time) and so far it looks like there is no data loss, thank god. However DNS and other server issues have stopped us coming back online just yet.

I have been on top of this since it happened (as I was online) and have been harassing tech support and managment to get us backonline as soon as possible.

I had been working away for the 12 hours straight and just when I thought we where getting somewhere when the power came back on yesterday morning, it all went off again last tonight.

We are back online for now, however the server is running off generators and there will be more downtime again over the next few weeks. Please be patient as all the issues are resolved.

Welcome back.

Just goes to show how one fault can cause so much wide spread damage to several websites.

anyway good to see you are back online!

Cheers

Email has been badly affected and at the moment, we cant send or recieve emails, new member registration confirmations, PM or Message notifications and a lot of other stuff.

I will have to manually confirm new users ever 24hours or so until this is sorted... Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

I am working to resolve this ASAP and again I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.
