I need to buy some ply for the top of my new ramp. STD Oz comp specs.

What thickness ply have people used, and what spacing are the supports. I have marked mine at about 400mm spacing, using 40x40.

Thanks.

I used 17mm ply, and if it was a big ramp, I'd put supports in every 25cm (I put upright supports every 50cm, so I'd put one linking them accross and one inbetween each of those, so 25cm, but thats just me.

THanks.

DO u use 17mm Structural ply, or internal, marine etc.?

The ramp is 1200 wide. I was hoping if I used 17mm, Id get away with larger spacings. The whole ramp is from 40 x 40.

Um, i just use normal ply with weather proofing crap on it. yeah, all ramps are 1200 wide, cause thats how wide slabs of ply come, and um, yeah, well i guess if ya using the proper 40mm tubing, i guess ya could get away with less supports, I really have no idea on the spacing they use on pro comp ramps as standard, but the face of the ramp is the place ya need the most support, the last thing ya want is for a tyre to go through the face....

if you are real tight, get packing sheets like me:D they are like 20 each rather then 80, just trim the edges like a cm thick all the way down and they look like the real thing, same strength.

packing sheets are the sheets of ply that on either side of the packs of ply to protect them, use self screwing screws rather than roofing screws looks neater and safes you tyres.

Thanks all, I'll go the 17mm ecoply with the water resistant treatment. I can get it locally for about $80.00 per sheet. This ramp has cost me so much sofar, whats a few extra bucks...

If its worth doing, its worth doing properly..

Freerider - call me about that vid. The weather is getting shit, so if u want some helmet shots we sould do it soon.:D
