Cant ride for a bit

I went ridin today and was learing no footed cans and had em down pretty good. but i wasnt getting full extension. one time i hit the ramp perfect and got great extension but when i went to get back on my bike the bike was dropong faster tehn me so the seat was about three feet below my arse and i couldnt pull myself closer and the ground was coming fast. so instead of landing and then hitting my arse on the seat with brutal force, prolly would have screwed up my back, so i put my knee out which was about 7 inches above the seat and when i hit it just killed my knee. i went back to the truck and pulled my pants up to look at my knee and it was about 4 or 5 times it normal size :eek:.
Went to the hospital and the gave me vicadin :D , and took some x rays. luckly i didnt break my knee cap which i thought i did, i had a contusion (know i spelt that wrong) in my knee. that is when the knee cap is slamed in to the actual knee it causes fluid build up which is what caused it to swell up. the doctor had to remove some of the fluid with a needle which i hate, but he said i might be able to ride in 2 weeks but it could be up to 6.

Bummer, exactly the same as what i done 1st crash on me new bike, held on till impact and nailed my knee into the ground, sure enough it swelled up, as you said, It's gone away now, but my entire right knee is numb now, can feel a lil bit, but it's like having that pins and needles feeling, ya got feeling, but nothing hurts. You'll be fine in a few weeks like the Doc said :D, but ya may have a big numb patch there for life.

well (since i dont have my license when i go she has to come) my mom brought her camera, but the batterys were dead;doh;. she got one pic of me doing a hill climb and tried to take another and it said somthing like "low bat".

actually mungo i didnt smash my knee on the ground it was the seat/gas tank, which was a hell of allot worse if it woulda been the ground i would be fine since the landing was a nice soft snad dune, but the real bad part was that my knee was about 7 inches of the bike so when it landed and the sespension started to push it back up i came down on it.

the doc said that once i can kneel on my knee on a hard floor without any pain i can ride again and i think i will almost for sure be back riding with in 2 weeks:D

NICE work buddy but that would of hurt heaps at least u didnt stuff your back otherwise u would be out for ages cause my friend did that and it took ages to recover. anyway hope u can ride within to weeks

yea im already feelin pretty good, partly the meds but i can limp around without cruches.

yeah there is some good things but the bad part is u cant ride for a while when u get nufffin else to do but go for a loose moto ride anyway bruzz hope ya get better soon

Sounds painfull mate. Knee injurys hurt like shit!. I was doin whips over my natural jump at my place an sum how fell off my bike an smashed my nee into the ground. It isnt a very big jump but it still hurt so i can imagine off a supa kicker it would hav been painfull as. get bak ridin soon an u should get thos cans down good as!

its ok for the most part i can walk with little pain, and it is still pretty swelled up but its goin down, when i touch the sweeled part over my knee cap its real numb like when your foot falls asleep, but thers a huge fluid deposite thing on the side of my knee that is gettin smaller but it still hurts like b!tch when i touvh it

yeh last year i hit a huge pile of dirt wich was nearly as big as a house, f***ing HUGE. anyway there was no lip or anything cut yet and i was just seeing how it would be if i cut it a bit. i hit it in 4th because i looked smooth at the top so i thought i wouldnt get any air, oh shit how wrong was i. any way most of the dirt was soft as except for at the top. the backwheel hit the hard packed bit and was kiked rite up. i bailed straight over the front of the biek but landed on my knee. i also had a contusn or wateva and had to get 15stiches down my knee and leg. couldnt ride for a month but and fine now and let with a nargly scar!

once i came off my bmx and hit a rock with my knee bloody hurt but i could walk so mulisha_mike your crash would have hurt like f***in hell
