I got a new camera

well well well, brad, i got a camera, and for your pleasure, finally.

it is a kodak DX6490, i got it for 528AUS delivered, with all the spare crap, including a dock, but no power cord, which i will have to buy from a shop locally, i got the camera off ebay america, they are awesome cameras, as pete and photocaro have told me and i have seen. shoud be lots of photos of me and coming from me from mucking around, parties, free riding and race events. now i just have to buy a charger, case and a bigger SD card.

here is a photo of it, should i go a 128mb card or 256mb card?

yes, i have just taken my order of 4000 crackers and assorted fireworks and i am going to a big race in 20 days!!!!!!!! arenacross, so lotz photos and blowing up of letter boxes. my friend (who is mentally insane) wants to buy mice and stick crackers up there arse and blow then up for....... FUN?

Might I also say THANK GOD you have a camera, since I, like Brad, was getting rather frustrated at the constant asking to be honest. But now I see it is all over and I am glad. Looks like a pretty good buy, look forward to seeing some lovely images of whatever you decide to point that beast at.
For the card, 128mb will suffice for most days except for if you go to like a comp or a day full of demos and you take photos of everything, then it might be better to step it up to the 256 or even a 512 if possible. Although I don't think the SD cards have 512's yet so yeah. I was using a 512mb CF card in the Nikon and never really came close to filling it the 2 times I've used it so. Just depends how frequently you'll be hitting up big events with lots of jumps I guess. If you plan on going to a few get the 256. If not the 128 should be plenty I imagine. How big's the standard card? 32mb?

lol, no it has no card in it, it has 16mb internal memory on its own in-built hard drive, i am on ebay now looking for a card and case, i can get a 128mb for 50aus delivered from australia. so thats not to bad, but i may evetually buy a second 128mb card.

nice kyle, go for the 256mb card. they make non genuine ones so u will be able to get the cheaper. i have a sony camera and the sony memory cards arent cheap and i dont think theres any genuine ones.

Might be one of those Microdrive things. They're pretty hell cheap for their size.

sony 1gb memory stick : $924 no including shipping, and this place is easily 100 cheaper than a normal store.

Kyle, I fit about 120 full quality photos on my 128mg card. Then theres always the 16mb internal memory which can fit another 20 or 30 photos (not sure) In anycase I would rarely take more than 120 full quality photos. Maybe if you were shooting at events then it would be good to buy a 256 or 512.

thanks, pete. i have officially have no money left now. spent all my holiday money on bike and camera, but i still money for entry fees and race license's and a new trailer, so i will have to wait for the card, i found one for 50aus delivered. 128mg one and i have to find a case.
