G'day guys, I know this sounds completely ludicrous, and VERYYYY unethical in anything related to moto's, BUT the question needs to be asked, Has anyone Cut down their Silencers on their bikes?

I've just picked up my new YZ-F250, had a quick gander at it, and thought, damn, If i chop the guards on it (to the way i like) the silencer is going to be as long if not longer than the guards which will look nothing but stupid, but as you all know, it's not about looks, it's about purpose and I for one don't want to worry about getting pants caught up on my silencer.
I've heard of people cutting down their 2 stroke silencers, but haven't heard of any 4stroke mod's on them. If anyone has done it, or knows of someone that has, How did they do it, and most importantly, what was the effect on power output?

Cheers
Steve

I think you can buy shorter mufflers for the 250fs. Have a chat to Andy, when he bought his 250 it came with this huge muffler. I could be wrong, but I think he changed it with a shorter one.

Congrats on the new bike by the way bro :D

you should be able to cut the silencer down without any drama's, i was riding up at esk with a guy who had a '02' YZ250f and he had cut down his silencer, tho he did say he lost abit of power, but thats the price u pay i guess, i would recommend the head pipe aswell, seems like a shorter header would be what you need.
