I can mono push bikes indefinatly with out a problem using a hand brake and gettin the balance point is simple on a push bike for me but i can not get the hang of it on my dirt bike!

i own a 01 Cr 250R i wanna be able to do slow monos like on my push bike just coasting on the back wheel and tapping the break and acceleration as needed

any tips would be great thanks

by the way i did search for threads on this but couldnt find anything usefull

hey dude i got rm250 and i can go for 1.7k's, theres no real trick dude, every one has there own stile. just pratice pratice pratice thats all u need. only tip i can give u is sit in the middle of the seat on a 2 banger and start f in 3rd or 4th gear and use the cluth to get it up so its up nice and even then just use the throtle no clutch. when u change gears u will find out whats easyer with using the clutch or not usin it but i use it. so tell me how your progress goes and im glad to help yu catch yu later dude

I can mono for ages on pretty much any bike I get on. I own both a 4 stroke and 2 stroke. I only got good because it was something i was so determined to get good at it its all I did everywhere. While down at the foam pit I was too shit scared for ramps so while everyone was freestylin I was practicing monos. Could go for ages in 3rd gear then one day I just changed gears and yeah now can go for ages. Just practice as much as you can and in a few months you will have it down pat

Yeah I'm te casual monoer lol I can do aight monos but my mate who isn't great at racing or jumping or tricking is FARKING amazing on his back well I've sat next to him for kilometers n his front wheel just sits in this perfect neutral position, he easil goes up my road and over a hill and th hills on a bend n he just leans n turns! I won't say he can do anythingnon a dirtbike but he sure can mono the sh*t outa anyone I no!

Do it on grass first or somewhere with kinda compact not too slippery dirt.
And switch up into 3rd and accelerate until you are highish revs 3rd and let the revs drop down then stand up and crack the throttle a bit, depending on how you did it and your body position it will come up a bit or at least unload the suspension on the front end. You need to keep getting it up and cracking throttle few times on the way up and you will get into a loop that you will be able to hold longer and longer each time. When you want to do the slow near 12 'o clock wheelies you need to go somewhere where you will have optimum traction and won't spin. Sit back further than normal and place your foot on back brake. Get into low revs 2nd and from slow rolling pop the clutch and kinda jerk your body back and if you go to far back just slam on the back brake. It only takes tiny amounts of throttle to keep balanced while doing slow wheelies.

yeh man on my exc 300 ive been trying to for ages but im just starting to get good now, what i do is i click it into second get to just under powerband jump on the bike like to compress the suspension and as you feel the bike coming back up or rebounding twist the throttle to hit powerband, it works for me and i can hold em pretty good now but wether it works for you dont know, hope it helps

its really just gettin the balancing point like that guy said earlier (too lazy to go back a page) lol! im on a kx125 and theres day where i could wheelie the length of the field and some days where id be luckey to keep the front wheel up for more than a second, wheeling up hill really helps. i sit, slip the clutch and shift up when the wheel gets high enough!

I have this problem also, i havent practised much though. My bike bites in hard just under band and lifts the wheel and then once i hit band i have to slam the back brakes on to stop myself flipping. Any tips?

clutch, first gear, lean back, drop the clutch and have one finger on it, foot on the brake and slight throttle and get practising to get it slower and higher
