Wollongong's Jay Marmont (20, Motorex KTM) once again proved his superlative fitness and tactical ability with another win at Round Five of the Australian Supercross Nationals in Adelaide. Teammate Cheyne Boyd, who led Marmont for the first half of the race took second, with Cameron Taylor claiming third position for Team CDR Boost Mobile Yamaha.

The eventful race saw the top three placings swap several times with Team Suzuki's Danny Ham (Thornton, NSW) missing out on a podium place after a frustrating 18th lap sent him back two spots into fifth position. Ham will hope to reverse these results on home territory next week in Gosford. Teammate Mitch Hoad (Cessnock, NSW) will not be able to compete in the Gosford round (also his home turf) due to a broken collar bone sustained during practise.

REARDON'S SECOND TRIUMPH OVER FACTORY TEAMS IN THE PRO LITES

Whales Kawasaki rider, Daniel Reardon (18, Cornubia QLD) took the Pro Lite title for the second time in the 2004 Australian Supercross Nationals beating Wollongong's Ryan Marmont (Motorex KTM) into second and Sydney's Daniel McCoy (CDR Boost Mobile Yamaha) in third place. Reardon demonstrated outstanding fitness and determination, maintaining a firm lead for the majority of the race. He is now just three points behind series leader Marmont and leads McCoy (in third) by 17.

The hard-fought final only got going after a race restart as privateer Bronte Holland (Kaniva, VIC) crashed out in the first lap. Holland has a suspected broken leg.

MATT MOSS BEATS INJURED SERIES LEADER WADE THOMPSON IN THE 1800 REVERSE JUNIORS

The 1800 Reverse Junior Development Series was arguably the most hard-fought and nail-biting category at the Adelaide round with local talent Wade Thompson (Serco Yamaha) and Gianni Dalle Molle (Team Fly Kawasaki) battling it out with the Moss brothers (AXO Yamaha) -twins from Sussex Inlet NSW. Matt Moss, who trails his twin Jake in the series leader board, was consistently better than his sibling in this round, winning Race 2 and taking the overall title for the night (the three race scores are cumulative), with South Australian's Wade Thompson and Gianni Dalle Molle in second and third.

Thompson rode with a strapped arm and suspected broken wrist after a fall in practise, but was determined to complete and win all three races. A frustrating crash and loss of crucial places in the second race allowed Moss to slip past into first with a seven point cumulative lead. Thompson remains series leader with 37 points over the number two, Dalle Molle.

yeh it was sick Daniel Reardon raced pretty good against Ryan Marmont in the pro lite. Did the supercross nationals replace the supercross masters because the back ground in the pic is the same as on the supercross masters pic?
