your best bet would be to find a mate with one and exactly copy all the dimensions of a bought one, if your accurate enough it should come out near identical.

yeah i will try and see if i can find someone with one, but it would be easier if someone on here had already made one. then they could just tell me how.

nice stand how much did it cost in materials. and how long did it take
scott_855
1st April 2007, 05:15 PM
im not sure how much it would have cost to make, shouldnt have been to much as there isnt much steel involved, just ask a steel supplier, some places would be a prick and make u pay for the hole 8m length of steel and other will just sell u wat u need
mulisha kid
1st April 2007, 06:41 PM

the stand works ok but it has failed once, the holes on the angle where the 2 bolts go through was a coupld of mm off which reduced the locking of it

1st April 2007, 06:58 PM
thanks mate. we should be good for steel since we got lots left over form the ramp we made
scott_855
1st April 2007, 07:06 PM
the rhs we used was 2mm thick and the angle was 5mm i think

yer that has happened to mine once or twice but its ok now..... i made 3 of em for me and me mates coz if ya buy the steel in bulk sort of thing it can sometimes turn out cheaper so if ya mates wont one ask em then charge em lol

if ur planning on making one go to a engineering shop and ask if u can hav a look in their scrap bins cos at work we would easy hav enough in there to make a few of them and if they are a good shop u mite not hav to pay much at all.

I was just wondering what angle you connect B and C at and also how far from the bottom of E do you weld L?
Cheers
Zac :Z433:
scott_855
11th April 2007, 06:04 PM
i dont know wat u mean wif B and C it just bolts onto it, we had to make up all the measurements oh where to drill the holes and where to weld L, i will go measure mine up tomorrow and give ya the measurements
mulisha kid

Im gonna make the same stand as that when i get my new 125
scott_855
11th April 2007, 06:58 PM
yeh they are pretty handy, i dont use mine anymore as i have a different type of list stand that my parents bought for me, so the one i made just sits in the shed, just you have to be careful wen drilling the holes on G as that is what locks it and if they arent the right distance apart the stand wont lock

go buy one at a moto shop, take it home measure it all up then take it back, they may even let you just measure it up in the shop, i tried making one once, i found it extremely hard

17th April 2007, 08:54 AM
