I have a 2000 Cr125. I have recently had a Wiseco piston fitted so the top end is all fresh. I have recently been having trouble with the bike having a lot of black oil in the exhaust system (running down the silencer). When its running there is NO blue smoke and it still pulls as strong as it always has. I've tried leaning the premix mixture out but still have the problem. The bike is serviced regularly, air filter, gearbox oil etc. so it is not a problem due to not being looked after. Could it be to do with the RC valve (exhaust valve mechanism)???? I think this may be a question for Mungoman58... Hondas still rule!!

I'm not a genius, but if its runnin normal, and ther has been no proplems, owell. and all of my bikes hove had that after a long day of riding, actually i have noticed that on almost every bike i have seen.

yeah, it jsut depends how you ride, if i load my cr250 up lots i end up with the rubber joiner leaking black shit.
but it i rev the crap outa it lots it dosent leak.
possiable try repacking you muffler also, maybe you have that much gummy shit in there its leaking out.

MMM thats an interesting pickle. Have you recently changed oil brands or your fuel/oil ratio? It might just be burning cleaner (less smoke) because you got more compression with the new piston. Maybe the dribble down the silencer is just a bit of excess oil not being burnt. I'm not really sure though mate to be honest

I reckon it's probably because i've been ridin slow tight trails recently, haven't really had the chance to wind it up. Local track is open again on the 29th so i should be able to have it pinned more often, hopefully then it will burn cleaner and not leave as much oil in the exhaust. What does everyone else run, oil/fuel ratio?? I'm runnin 40:1 at the mo. A friend with a YZ is runnin 50:1 and he doesn't have the oil problem. But i don't want to go too lean and seize it!!

What you said is exactly right, if you have been riding tight stuff and not had a chance to hold it wide through the gears, you will more then likely get a bit of excess oil dripping down the silencer

yea man i got a 99 CR and I mix a little richer then 50:1. i just mix in a very little bit more then what the bottle says for 50:1 and i have had less of a problem with oil coming out, prolly cause I've been riding in snow and no matter how fast you're going the back tire just spins faster so you end pinin it, feels kinda weird when you are goin about 15 miles per hour and your 5th gear pinned

50:1 is a bit steep. geez. thats risking it.
