thats my 250f, all you do is take off the seat and "unclip" the sides of the airbox and fold them in..then put a cabletie through the holes to hold it there...this way you dont have to cut the airbox...youll know what i mean when you have a look on yours
i used a jigsaw to cut the sideplates....

hey would a piar of tin snips cut the plastics good aswell
paddo
3rd February 2007, 05:00 PM
i dont think that tinsnips would work very well because the blades mite tend to seperate with the pressure on them and kind of fold/ shear the plastic. wouldnt look too good.

Hacksaw blade and a tidy up with a stanley knife or razorblade is how I did it too. And an angle grinder for the subframe tabs, cleaned up with a file. You can also use a flame to clean up the cuts if you really want but be careful with that, I don't bother with it personally...

i love the look of 2tone bikes.....my CRF is Red/Black/Red now but as soon as the snow goes and i can use the truck again(no snow tires :( ) im bringin it over to my friends house cause he does a nice job cutting them. i think im gonna put my DVS graphics back on too..... when i cut my grabholes, im gonna use a jigsaw and smoothen it out with a belt sander/sandblock just like we did with my front and back fenders

7th February 2007, 11:00 PM
i know a dude whos an upholster and yeah he cut it and then puts a thin layer of foam round the top and pulls it tight so its nice and smooth and puts a gripper on it all for a cheap price of 70 bucks :D was heaps happy with it !!! wanna make my grabs a little bit bigger... when i get my 250 in a few months im going to cut the subframe like what robbie adelberg and leigh harriman and nate adams do so you get a better grip.
cheers for the comment bois !!

no need to cut ur side plates and your air box, just take one side or both sides off, it does the same job (might not look as good) but it will save you alot of money in the long run when u want to sell you bike, i have herd some airboxes can cost $500....
hoppa24
1st May 2007, 12:47 PM
when i cut mine, im just gonna cut my sideplates, not my airbox, as i'll be racing it too. and i'll have 2 sets of sideplates. :D
:jive:
zach991
2nd May 2007, 08:21 AM
you could fold them in.....or just buy new airbox flaps or covers or whatever theyre called....
MR MAD KENT
2nd May 2007, 09:16 AM
just use a hack saw n then use wetndry sand paper to smooth off the edges....
