Just wonderin if anyone has tried putting a lifan 125cc or similar into a xr50 frame? anyone know if it would work or are they to big

i havnt done it or dont kno anyone thats done it, but it shuld bolt straight in..

Hey Cakey most crew i know just work on the existing engine as they are strong and can be rebuilt....
I haven't heard of anyone doing the conversion your talking about...

wouldnt it be a cheaper option though? get a 125 with 4 speed and clutch? instead of spending heaps on the original one?

I'm not sure buddy as i'm only familiar with the imported chinese stuff that we sell...
That would be a question for Boxy or one of the lads that love the Jap stuff as well...

I know some guys in WA that have put 110 China's into the CRF50's so the 125 shouldn't be a problem other than maybe bore length ... front wheel might hit the head under ful compression MAYBE..
But they will bolt right on in... no problems there. have to do some wiring but thats about it... Im going to put my 125 thumpy motor onto a CT70 honda for revheads weekend thats coming u... should be a 1 or 2 hour swap i rekon..

I do an awfull lot of research, before i buy or do anything... US based fourms are a good area too keep your eyes on for heaps of info on the china based motors..
