Z50 Engine help

Ok i have a problem i was given a Z50 and there was a prob with the engine and i am trying to find out what it is. the engine runs ok at a idle but when i give it revs it spudders and wont pick up revs. I am thinking it is worn piston and barrel.

So if anyone who knows stuff on engines could they shed some light for me.

i am now starting to think fuel prob, because if it idles fine it would iliminated timing and ignition. if it was piston itr would be very smokey
so i might check the fuel line for blockage

Carbi probly need striping down as well and clean the jets etc..

ok must be timing its backfiring out of the carby but it idles so its weird.
