After seeing the stuff that has been pulled at the X games this year it got me thinking.... Where would fmx be if cary hart didnt try a flip back in 00' ? Do you think they would still be double flips, underflips, 360's and everything else they are doing these days?

Whats your opinion? Go wild.....

Well, There's 2 ways to look at this; your way or what would happen if he didn't do it? Someone else could have done something bigger and better and the sport could have gone down a different road.

It's very interesting though.

either way the sport would follow bmx's lead as it does today, they flipped now we have, they 360'd we have, they double flipped we have to, but we still havent done 720's maybe in the future

It would have got pulled anyway by someone shortly after, Carey didnt even pull it, he got damn close but he was the first to give it a geez, Caleb Wyatt was the first to ride away from it.

fmx would be aweome without the foampit, less flipcombos and more technical trixxx

Yeah Carey knew he was gonna flip long before anyone else was even thinking it could be done... Riding out of it is nothing in that scheme of things with the way he did it all.

As for where FMX would be... Perhaps within a lot easier reach of some of us than it is now...

there's a difference from landing it and doing it. carey did one full flip, even though he didn't ride away with it. you can't deny he provd it was possible. but caleb wyatt doesn't get the recognition he deseves.

Carey is a nut but in fmx we got quite the selection of nuts someone would have done it.

caleb wyatt was good doing it and all but i think that carey deservs more credit becaus it was over a pretty big gap compared to the one that caleb pulled

i was wondering before
with how gnarly and extreme this sport is after they do all the flip combos theyll probly work on all the 360 combos that they can do then maybe underflip combos then i think sadly that the sport will stop progressing and might die out i would hate for this to happen but i think that is is an unfourtunate possibility that could happen

exactly i think that if we didnt have foam pits an all that i think this world would of only just started flip combos.
u know how hard it would be nowdays of going pro?
like all the tricks u gotta have in the bag
i liked old school fmx where they judged the riders on their style not what tricks they can do

i think barrel rolls, front flips, bike variels, backflip 360's, bmx 360's and flairs on the quater pipe will come into play a few years down the track

with quarter pipes coming into play in fmx now that could be one of the next big things too

TP has done 540's and Flare's in the Pit with a 1/2 pipe i believe. The next big tricks shall b the deadbody bflip; doublegrab bflip; body varials; frontflips; flat-spin 360's....

it was carey hart who done the first back flip but he fell of strait after it because of the sketchy landing. it was a bloke called celeb wyatt who actually was the first person to ride away from the flip. carey hart planted the backflip in people minds so if carey didnt try the backflip i rekon it would of taken a long time to get to where we are today in fmx
